The inside linebackers have been disappointing. In a weird way I think Ben may be the guy who has played better than I thought

Call me crazy but the next 4 opponents are who the Steelers play their best against. I say they go 3-1 over the next four weeks and host a playoff game as the 4th seed.  Yep I'm crazy
Zeise
12:38
I think 2-2 is far more likely

I heard the cap is going up 50 M next year. How much would the Steelers then have to spend for 2022 including all the money that will appear if Ben and others leave ?
Zeise
12:39
They will have a really large number because they have a bunch of guys coming off the books as well as that big bump
Guest
12:39
How would you spend it ?
Zeise
12:40
A quarterback! A tackle! Some linebacker and secondary depth
Big Sid
12:41
How would you rate the play of Sutton this year?  On par with expectations?  And would you extend him past next year?
Zeise
12:42
I think he has been exposed / he is not a great player. He is a solid corner but probably should not be a starting outside corner
Jarvis Ragdoll Jones
12:43
What are your thoughts on Tomlin's 2 point strategy vs. MN?
Zeise
12:43
That is the new way of thinking in football. You go for 2 early to figure out what you need at the end. I don’t like it but it is football in 2021

Do u think Rutherford would trade for kapanaen a 3rd time
Zeise
12:44
Probably. He is one of those guys who loves “back to the future” acquisitions

Paul merry xmas! Keep up the great work.
Zeise
12:44
Thanks JE and best to you and yours

Do u think Rutherford would trade for kapanaen or zucker
Zeise
12:45
Again he seems to loves those kinds of trades

Interesting to see how hard James Conner is running and how well he's catching passes this season in Arizona.  Is it just a change in scenery motivation, or did the Steelers miss something when he was here?
Zeise
12:46
Yeah they were missing a good offensive line and dynamic quarterback

What is your opinion on sports talk now being overrun with nothing but gambling.  No matter the sport or the situation, everything in sports talk seems to be done through the prism of gambling.
Zeise
12:48
So you listen to my show? Ha ha. Um I don’t agree. This is one of those things that gets repeated often but isn’t true. The reality is a lot of these gambling sites and apps spend a lot of money on advertising so there is an increased presence of it but it isn’t as prevalent as you think

Would the Steelers have been quite so understanding, or at least less concerned about a PR backlash, if Stephan Tuitt had elected to remove himself from the team at full pay in the long ago time (aka last summer) before Simone Biles brought media attention to mental health issues experienced by well compensated athletes?
Zeise
12:49
Yes

Tell Jake Dulac's chat was yesterday!
Zeise
12:49
Hey Jake, take note
Tom G
12:50
If you were advising Kenny Pickett would you tell him to play in the Peach Bowl or skip it?
Zeise
12:50
I would tell him not to play and to go get paid. He already won the game that matters. He has nothing to gain
Geno
12:51
You do know when I come back we'll inevitably lose a few and the Geno hating yinzers will be screaming for my head, yes?  They are clueless, as I'm one of the greatest ever. Your concurrence now, please.
Zeise
12:52
I hope you get healthy with three weeks or so left before the trade deadline, come out skating and playing well and that way the Penguins can trade you for a nice haul

Who do I blame for the offense? Canada or Ben? Ben seems to be able to make the plays that are needed when its up tempo and he is directing it. I read the first 10-15 plays are planned in advance, and we never do anything on those plays. Canada 80% Ben 20%?
Zeise
12:53
The offensive line, followed by Canada, followed by Ben

Paul, Devin Bush said that no one on the team is playing to potential.  Is this an honest indictment of himself and the team or a slap at his teammates?  I can't imagine he is very popular in the lockeroom.
Zeise
12:54
It is clown show stuff. He isn’t playing well and playing to his potential so he is gonna bring everyone else down with him. The guy needs to start playing well and talk less

Hi Paul. Any thoughts on Coach Deion Sanders getting a top high school recruit to de-commit from a top school and opt for Jackson State, instead? And who has the better chance of coaching a D1 school in faster order, Sanders or Urban?
Zeise
12:56
I’m sure the recruitment of that kid was 100 percent above board and he went to play for Deion Sanders because he loves him and the facilities. Sanders is probably where he needs to be

Paul, When will Claypool learn to "Play-Cool"?
Zeise
12:56
I see what you did there
Noel Gallagher
12:56
Would Kenny Pickett to the Steelers really be good for both parties?  Seems like the Steelers have far bigger issues (rebuilding a completely depleted offensive line) than QB.  KP would be running for his life in this offense on virtually every play. With no run game.
Zeise
12:57
I hope he goes elsewhere. The pressure here would be enormous for him to produce right away
Jack
12:57
Since Charlie is obviously being groomed for greatness, what odds you got of him winning a major in his lifetime?  Tough shoes to fill, you might say.
