And away we go........
Artie Bridge
12:01
Paul, I could see the Steelers going 3 - 0, 0 - 3, or anything in between in these remaining games.  What's your take?
Zeise
12:03
I don’t see 0-3 at all. Cincinnati stinks. They absolutely stink. The Steelers defense will win that game by themselves regardless of what is going on with the offense. I could see 2-1 at worst. I mean if the offense is still sputtering they might lost to the Colts but I doubt it. And the Browns will be decided by what the game means. If the Steelers don’t need to win it they will rest all the guys that need rest. But I think 2-1 is the worst they will do

Happy Snow Day.  Any truth that Pine Richland is going to get a bid to the FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl?
Zeise
12:08
They were considering the bid until they found out St Joe’s Prep would be their opponent and then they declined. Relax, I’m joking, well sort of... But at the rate teams are declining bowl games I’m thinking they may need to look to some of these top high school programs to fill them. I’ve said already they should just have the New Year’s Six games, maybe three or four of the other top games and three or four of the smallest games so the smaller programs have a place to play. The rest should be canceled because we are gonna start to see really bad teams with 2-8 records filling those spots

Good morning. Radical point-of-view here...If the Steelers continue, pedal to the metal, in pursuit of every win and/or a bye, they’re going to flame out. They’re gassed right now. So here it is...Bust it Monday night to clinch the AFC North and then coast. Practice lightly for 2-3 weeks with the o-line having their hands in the dirt, Ben under center, a FB in and rotating backs. Shotgun ONLY on 2nd or 3rd and long or no huddle. ANY player that’s tired, sit them as much as possible. Then see if they can throw the switch for the first playoff game. Perhaps they couldn’t but they’re not going to go anywhere at the current rate. Thoughts?
Zeise
12:11
You had me with your sentiments about the team worrying about flaming out. The Steelers should go all out to win this game against the Bengals then use the next two weeks to get healthy and rested for the playoffs. But they can’t completely change what they do or who they are and hope it works in a playoff game. It isn’t realistic

Paul, why are we seeing Vance McDonald never being thrown to anymore? Enron has the dropsies and Vance has shown in the past that he can be a beast after he catches the ball. Is he that good of a blocker that this is his sole  role now in the game plan ?
Zeise
12:12
Well he has been hurt and I think Ben Roethlisberger, for some reason, likes to throw it to Ebron more. McDonald could probably help the offense if he was used more but so far that hasn’t been a part of he plan

Paul, KC has the #1 seed for sure, don’t you agree that the worst scenario for Steelers would be to face ravens 1st rd even at home? I do, I rather rest key starters for health purposes can’t afford anymore injuries, even if that means losing the division.. I rather prefer visiting bills again or colts/titans than home against ravens.. your thoughts as well? Keep safe!
Zeise
12:16
I agree the Ravens are a tough matchup and the best case would be the Steelers playing the Browns or Dolphins in the first round. But you can’t control who you play and all you will play is good teams in the playoffs. The Steelers just need to worry about getting healthy, rested and being ready to play in the playoffs

On punt coverage, we had a roughing the kicker penalty early last week.  Fortunately, we stopped them and got the ball back w/o them scoring points.  When I look punt coverage, the top three goals: don't give up a first down on a fake, catch the punt/don't fumble, don't have a penalty that would give opponents a chance for a first down, like roughing the kicker.  Why do teams try to block a punt early in a game when they are ahead or close in score, and risk the penalty?  It's not even in the top three objectives on the play.
Zeise
12:21
I couldn’t agree more. If this were social media I would hit the like or love button. It makes no sense to go for a blocked kick unless it is late and you are desperate. I see far more roughing and running into the punter penalties than blocked punts. I always say - play punt safe and set up a return

Paul, why do you continually take shots at lower tier bowl games? Obviously this year is different, but in normal years a lot of guys take vacation Dec 23 - New Year’s. Popping on a game in the middle of a weekday afternoon to watch for awhile, what’s the harm? Plus, some of these minor bowls are in Fla, Cali, even the Bahamas. Good time for the players.
Zeise
12:22
I don’t know what that means, I haven’t taken shots at the lower bowls I just don’t think this year they are necessary. Lower bowls give a lot of teams a chance to play in a good game and end their season right.

Paul Pitt finally had a top 25 recruiting class. Do you see Narduzzi ever getting this team above mediocrity? Like win 10 games even once?
Zeise
12:27
I know I’m gonna be called a heater for this but I only deal in facts and reality so here it goes - the recruiting rankings are very incomplete because this was the first signing day. A lot of teams will add players and it will change their rankings. The more players you get the better your rankings. Penn State will probably add 9-10 more players and that will push them up in the ranking. I only say this because I see way too many victory laps and it doesn’t make sense. Let’s talk about recruiting rankings in February. And I think with Kenny Pickett coming back Pitt has a chance to be really good

Hi Paul, thanks for the chat! Throughout the year, I've been reading that the Steelers have one of the best receving groups in the league. But when I watch games, I see other teams' receivers open down the field (e.g., Bills and Diggs, Packers and Davante, Chiefs and everyone, Vikings and Jefferson). I know I named some of the league's best but I don't see our gyus running open down the field. Juju has to fight for 10 yard gains. Diontae has to make a defender miss to get down the field. Is this Ben, playcalling, or are they simply overrated?
Zeise
12:29
There was a lot of that talk early in the season but it is quieted a lot. I think 37 drops will do that to a group. I think they have some good players at receiver but they have to play better

Assuming no more significant injuries, and those that are able to heal in the next four weeks do, who will be missing on off and def when the playoffs start in Jan?  Seems like everyone could be back, the OL, the linebackers, and Joe Haden?
CanadianSteelersFan
12:29
Well... 11-2. You are as good as what your record says you are. Do believe the statement that the Steelers are the worst 11-2 team ever. Or can you even claim that an 11 win team is actually bad?
Zeise
12:31
Tom - I think the Steelers will be without Dupree, Bush and Banner among original starters and that’s it. Maybe they will be without Feiler too but it seems like his injury isn’t as bad as they thought
12:32
Canadian - The Steelers are a good team and 11-2 proves they are a good team. You don’t win 11 NFL games if you aren’t a good team.
Tom in Dallas
12:33
If the playoffs started today with us in the two seed, who would we play in the first round?  Also, will they reseed after the first round?  That is, if KC has a bye, will they get the lowest seed left?
Zeise
12:33
The Steelers would play host to the Dolphins and yes the Chiefs will get the lowest seed left
fredward
12:33
Is it possible the Steelers offense is playing possum and we'll see their full arsenal of plays again once the playoffs start?
Zeise
12:35
No, why would they do that to the point of losing an important game to the Bills? It makes no sense. They just need to break out of this little funk
OL coach
12:39
Do you have any ways to teach my OL how to run block because I have no clue. I miss Munchak
Zeise
12:39
Unless Mike Munchak can reverse Father Time with 3/5ths of the offensive line, he isn’t gonna change the fortunes of the line
Darrin
12:40
Why do pro athletes have to make a mockery of the game by running down the field and posing every time there is a turnover?  It detracts from the game?
Zeise
12:42
It is a generational thing. I’m an old fogey and I know I’m no longer the target audience for a lot of things. So I don’t understand it and could live without it but it doesn’t bother me if this is what they want to do and it makes them happy, go do it. My only issue is when guys want to celebrate like jackasses while their team is getting beat. That’s Bush league to me - win then celebrate

I am just worried if you let JuJu to continue to dance on other team's log, he will follow the footstep of AB and do his stuff more. I think Coach T needs to have a talk with JuJu and make him stop this nonsense of having fun. What do you think?
Zeise
12:47
I don’t know about that. JuJu just seems to be a guy having fun. As I said - it is fine to dance around the logo or whatever but if you are gonna do that kind of “look at me” stuff, you better go ball out and he just didn’t do that. And his team lost. How about more flash and “look at me” while helping your team win. Overall it isn’t a big deal but again, how about win then dance
david
12:48
who is our OC? Is it Randy or Big Ben?
Zeise
12:49
It depends - when the plays don’t work it is Randy and when they do work it is Ben drawing up plays in the dirt.....
Jimmie
12:49
What should be the first priority in the draft: fixing the offensive line or drafting a replacement for Dupree?
Zeise
12:50
Wow great question. I would say the offensive line and quarterback positions need to be the priority this offseason. They can get by with Highsmith for a year and even go get a free agent if they need it
H2P
12:51
Is Pitt BB that good or is Miami that bad?
Zeise
12:52
The Miami team they played last night was that bad. They have COVID issues and had like five scholarship players available and a few walk ons and that’s it

I am predicting Big Ben will retire if we win the SB. What do you think he will do on the following scenario:
