Merry Christmas let’s get started!!

Starkey’s article stolr
Zeise

I’m not sure what that means
Texan Steeler

Happy Holidays! Do you think it is possible for someone like C Green to get stronger in 1 offseason to become a serviceable NFL center?
Zeise
12:07
Boy the Steelers are hoping so! He needs to get stronger. He needs to mature physically. He also just needs more experience. He hasn’t played a lot of games at center in his life. It takes time

Starkey’s article stole some thunder from this question, but is it fair to say that if Pitt doesn’t win Coastal and get back to ACC Championship game next season it would be just as big if not more of a disappointment then if they would of failed this year.  4 new coaches in Coastal. Entire veteran Oline back, one of best receiver groups in country. A big part of the defense back and a couple of good options for QB.
Zeise

I think it is way too early for anyone to make any statement like that. So much is going to happen between now and then. I mean if Pitt goes 9-3 and loses a close game to Miami, who wins the Coastal, that’s a disappointment? That’s flat out stupid

The Steelers must fix their OL/DL issues to compete next season and need to fill the gap on WR (JuJu, JW departure). With so much cap space for the 1st time in years, how would you use your cap money and your draft picks?
Zeise
12:15
Ok let’s try this now. I have no idea what is going on with this software today but it finally loaded the question. They need to put a lot of resources into the lines. They need an inside linebacker. They need secondary help and if they aren’t gonna get Watson, Rodgers or Wilson they need to draft a quarterback

When Boswell was stinking up the joint in 2018 they put him on IR with a a questionable injury for the last couple games and brought in another kicker. Is time for Harvin to get “injured”?
Zeise
12:16
No. They need to ride him and hope he gets better. Punting is different than place kicking

Why do NFL coaches refuse to admit when they make a mistake? I'm a fan of Mike Tomlin but he obviously should have used his timeouts at the end of the first half. Just admit it. Coaches are as bad as sports writers with refusing to admit when they are wrong :). Merry Christmas.

Because they all have to prove they are the smartest guy in the room all the time

Sometimes the price of winning is much more than the cost of losing. Next April the bill for beating Tennessee will be drafting at 17 rather than 8. And with one more such victory the price will move up to 22. It might be worth it if we were finding out something about our backup QBs. Nah, it still wouldn't be worth it.
Zeise
12:17
I think it is such a crap shoot and something you can’t control. Just play the season, win as many games as you can and live with the draft pick whereever it lands

I'm curious. How badly does Green's inconsistent-to-poor play at center affect the Steeler run game?
Zeise
12:18
A lot because he is an important person at the point of attack. But that’s not the only issue with the Steelers running game
Mercury
12:19
When and why did teams go from usually using the back up quarterback as the kick holder to now almost always using the punter?
Zeise
12:21
That is a great question and one I don’t know the answer to. I would assume it is because teams figured out the punter and kicker are together a lot and there is no need to take a backup QB away from his primary duty to learn and work on a different skill. But again that’s a guess

Doesn’t the bengals season as division champs have anther home wild card loss to the chargers written all over it?  For all that is written about this division they never progress along in the playoffs.
Zeise
12:22
The Bengals will win the division. They could be scary in the playoffs. They could also lose by 21 in their first playoff game and go home.

Love reading the website but what can I do about that annoying pop up video player on every article. Please discontinue or give us a way to opt out! Thanks

I have no idea what you are asking or talking about but it sounds importanr

Hi Paul, with the poor play of the defense is it time for new defensive coaches line, linebacker, and DC.
Zeise
12:28
I really think more than anything else this staff as a whole could use a flushing. The staff is just not getting it done right now and there is too much development that needs to take place with younger players to have a staff that is stale and out of ideas

Hello Paul, I don't think the Steelers can trade for Rodgers or Wilson and mess up their cap figure again. I think it is given MR starts next season no matter what. The 2022 QB class is so weak I don't see a prospect starting right away including Pickett. I do like Carson Strong of Nevada who might be available in the 2nd round. If MR doesn't work, then Strong can start in 2023. What do you think?
Zeise
12:29
I think if you can get Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers you do it and worry about your cap later

Did our offensive coordinator ever hear of a double reverse

Tomlin’s explanation for not calling timeouts when the Titians had the ball at the end of the first half that he was more concerned with stopping them from scoring. Isn’t that equivalent to “I forgot”.
Zeise
12:31
It is basically coach speak for “I know I did something dumb and it cost my team but my ego is too big to admit it”
