Is Dan Rooney no longer being around the problem with this team? They were terrible before him and are trending that way without him.
Zeise
12:33
I don’t know I just think teams go through cycles. The Steelers are at the end of the Ben Roethlisberger era. It was a long and productive era but it is over now. So there could be a few years of growing pains that’s all
Utah Jim
12:33
Why did Ben go sit on the steps inside the stadium after his TD?
Zeise
12:34
Nobody has any idea. There is a bathroom right there at the steps so guys don’t have to run all the way back to the locker room during the game but who knows
Utah Jim
12:34
Why did they have no answer for the Titians running behind the left guard? They were successful every time they ran that play which felt like at least a dozen times including three times in a row at one point.
Zeise
12:36
Which makes it even more idiotic that the Titans kept passing the ball. It is a game of matchups and the Titans clearly had a matchup they liked on that side of the line
Utah Jim
12:36
The Steelers are very inconsistent on both sides of the ball. Is that because of coaching or are players with limited talent just inconsistent?
Zeise
12:37
A lot of both - holes in the roster and I don’t think the coaching staff is great. They need to rebuild both the roster and the coaching staff

You seem to get a ton of the same questions asked in many different ways. Will Ben be back next year?I  is Tomlin on the hot seat yet? Is Canada one and done? The season is what it is! I would think these chats would slow down for you and you can enjoy an early Christmas break...
Zeise
12:40
Nah people love their teams and I’m OK with it. I would rather answer that then Amanda’s whining about drinking! Have some spiked egg nog !!!
JJ
12:40
Is the criticism of TJ that he takes the occasional play off legit?  Seems to me that he has found a formula to maximize his effectiveness? Maybe Madden should take a meal or two off......
Zeise
12:41
I don’t buy that. The guy is double teamed and chipped just about every play. He takes a beating, he really does
DB
12:41
Paul, will my tackling stats be the exact same whether I'm out with COVID, or battling it out there with my teammates?
Zeise
12:41
Actually Bush has played a little better recently
Charlie
12:42
Paul, admit it, you are really down about seeing how much better I am than you, despite a few measly years in the game. I always thought bowling would be more your game.
Zeise
12:43
No I actually loved watching you and Tiger last weekend. I can’t wait to watch you out on the tour!
JR
12:43
New Pitt QB looks like a great fit. Is this kid the real deal? Merry Christmas!
Zeise
12:44
It sounds like it thats for sure. I had Yogi Roth from the Pac 12 network on my show the other night and he said Pitt got one of the best pure passers he has ever seen. He said he should do very well at Pitt

What is your predicted Steeler strategy for Sunday's KC game?   If they have any chance of winning, they need to stop being predictable in all phases, IMO.
Zeise
12:46
I’m not trying to be snarky or a wiseass but I have no idea what to think about what the approach of either team is until I see who is playing for both teams
Jock Sutherland
12:46
NFL schedule this weekend is outstanding.   Almost every game will with playoff implications and all national broadcasts good matchups.   Yeah I know because so many teams having issues but I’ll take this current parity in NFL over a handful of great teams dominating.
Zeise
12:47
I hate the NFL this year, it sucks. I hate watching these garbage offenses with mediocre quarterbacks and everyone trying to “shorten the game” with these 19-play, 12-minute drives that lead to field goal attempts

12:47
What to make of D. Moore at LT?  Viable LT starter or just filling a gap?
Zeise
12:48
It is hard to tell because he is a rookie. He has been overwhelmed mostly and hasn’t been great this year but he is young and learning
Randal

In light of the strongly competitive group of QBs, including Slovis, the entire OL coming back, and several playmakers on both sides of the ball returning, is it reasonable to think Pitt could repeat as a Coastal and possible ACC Champion next season? Does it depend on getting the OC hire right?
Zeise
12:51
Absolutely. Pitt is going to be tough to deal with next year. I think they have a real chance to repeat. I think they will get the offensive coordinator right. This offense has too many good players for a competent OC to screw up

Why did the Steelers make KG, small and inexperienced and more a guard by trade, their first choice center?   Seems like it was huge gamble that blew up in their faces big time.
Zeise
1:01
Because they are infatuated with athletic guys who they think they can turn into players

Paul,

Happy Holidays Why don’t the Steelers give Anthony Miller more opportunities at WR?  He was a decent receiver for the Bears. Your thoughts.
Zeise
1:10
I think they are comfortable with the rotation they have that includes Ray Ray and Washington.
Al Slinsky
1:10
Art Rooney Ii explicitly said he wanted the Steelers to be able to run the ball this year. They haven’t. If you’re him, how do you address that major failure?
Zeise
1:14
They tried to address it. They brought in via draft or free agency six new linemen and they drafted a running back. They were just bad at evaluating them
Devin Bust
1:14
Paul, I have been following the Steelers pretty closely since 71. I do not remember a time when they could not run the ball or stop the run. Is this the worst it has ever been since the Noll era began? Is it the worst ever since 1933? Even pre-Noll I think they always played hard nosed football.
Zeise
1:27
They are clearly getting beat up on both sides of the ball and they need to do a better job of rebuilding those lines. If you can’t win up front you cannot win
Alex
1:27
I know all Post Gazette writers have been asked millions of times, what is wrong with Tuitt and would you welcome him back next season? Can the Steelers trade him this offseason as I don't see him playing here anymore?
Zeise
1:29
I would say this is a situation that will resolve itself at end of the season. I do not expect him to be back next year.
Chris
1:29
Hi Paul, if Zach Banner won the RT position last year before getting hurt, are your observations that his recovery has been so poor that he's even worse now than what they have out there?
Zeise
1:31
I would think if he was back 100 percent, given that the line has been bad, I would think he would have a job back already.
