No I think you are right. Pat Narduzzi has done a good job of recruiting for next season. He has a great mix of freshmen and impact transfers and he also got the biggest “recruit” - Kenny Pickett - to come back. They should be really good again next year

Hey, Paul.  My father in law recently passed. He was a Denver Nuggets fan.  I do not follow basketball.  Can you put into context the Nuggets as an NFL team?  Are they a KC, Steelers, or Jets...somewhere in between?

Probably the Bills or until a few years ago the Eagles - a team that has had stretches of success and sole
down years but never quite got to the a championship.

Well there is no evidence of transmission during athletic contests. I don’t think I would worry about that. I would worry about the Browns having a breakout that carries over for them into playoff if they qualify

If Mason Rudolph gets hurt? I would say there is a chance we could see that. But unless Rudolph is God awful and Josh Dobbs is worse, I don’t see them using three  quarterbacks unless there is an injury

Shouldn't we tank the game this Sunday? I mean I know we are playing our JV team and are almost a 10 point dog, but even so - the browns being the browns it could still be close. And if we win we increase the chances of drawing the Ravens in the playoffs. What do you think?

I don’t think you can worry about who your opponent is in the playoffs.

You cannot control what the Ravens, Dolphins, Colts, Titans or whatever - the playoff seeding will take care of itself. Also every team in the playoffs is good enough to beat you so trying to select your opponent is a dangerous game to play

I don’t think there’s a wrong answer as to rest Big Ben or not... but I would have preferred he play at least a half. I think it’s important to get the offense rolling.  He’s played on good half in a month. I know if he gets hurt we are done, but if the offense plays like it did for most of the past 4 or 5 weeks we are also finished. What do you think?

I would give Ben the weekend off to be honest. And not just because of Ben, I want to see what Mason Rudolph brings to the table. I want him to have a whole game and the Steelers need to find out what he is

yeah I would probably give him the day off, well unless I’m the Dolphins. I’ll be honest the Dolphins best hope in the playoffs is with their Fitzpatrick. He could get hot and if he does he can turn your lights out quick. I think Tua is not very good.But yes the Steelers should give Minkah Fitzpatrick the day off

Paul if Steelers are one and done next week don’t you agree it would be a total failure of a season? Even before season started it would have been, now even more after the mirage of a start 11-0 , right?

12-13 wins, a division title is not a total failure. I don’t even know if it would be that much of a disappointment. I just don’t think they are really much better than a team that can get to the Divisional Round. There are better teams with more youth at key positions.

I think they showed Roethlisberger can still throw it down the field from time to time. They were a little lucky though and I think it could be fool’s gold. If what we gather is Roethlisberger can throw down field still then it is a win

The offensive line is old. Villanueva is done. David DeCastro is getting old and isn’t far behind. And Maurkice Pouncey is not far behind him. They are going to have to rebuild

Paulie, Was Bud crucial for this defense, it seems he was for some reason and now I wonder if we can win vs ravens again next week, I’m quite sure they will be our opponent.. do you feel the same way? Will they beat us this time? Ughhh !

I think losing Bud Dupree is going to be hard to beat the Ravens or anyone. They need his speed and his ability to get the quarterback.

How can anyone feel the least bit optimistic about the Pirates organization Paul? The owner gets cheaper by the year. These "trades" always seem to get us uninspiring prospects and who really believes Nutting will eventually spend money to help the team. I just see years and years now of last place garbage baseball. Thoughts?

I will answer this the same way I always do - this is a new front office and you have to give them time and see what they can do. And you have to trust that when they are ready to win, Bob Nutting will do what he said he is gonna do and pay some cash

Hey Paul, do you think Mike Tomlin reviewed the first half analysis by Tony Romo who recognized the obvious when he said if they throw the ball downfield the safeties will backup and it will open up the short passes and the run and maybe connect some long passes ? Kidding , of course.

I think he will be one of the best quarterbacks in the NCAA. I don’t know that he will improve his draft stock but he could, but I think he is a really good college player
