They could add some depth on D though, though the way people are getting paid it might be better to stay out of it.

O'Reilly to Montreal/St. Louis still the best fits
But it's not an easy trade to make, especially with the signing bonus structure
For Skinner, I think he'll jump up to the top for every team who misses on JT.

They'll be competitive even without a big move, but I'd expect them to think about Skinner again.
Not as perfect of a fit, but still more instant offense.

Very little. It seems as though Dubas has inherited his mentor's leak-free boat.
Have to think they're in on some defensemen, but none fit their structure perfectly.
Some centers are needed, obviously.

How can Ken Holland say he wants to play the rookies this year then sign 2 vets? Could this lead to an AA or Nyquist trade before the season?

It definitely could, but Holland (like Benning in Vancouver) has also been clear that he won't just put all the kids in by themselves.
