He was, but he makes so many bad and dangerous decisions on the ice that he rubs some people the wrong way.
He's never shown me that he'll put everything together and become a real offensive threat at the next level.

I wouldn't bet on him playing 300+ games in the NHL. But obviously he's just 18, and power players often take longer to develop.

It wasn't a mistake to trade Hamonic if they use those assets to make a splash.

Like I wrote today, I have to believe that Ottawa is after young roster players that could help them win next season.
I don't think they're after picks and prospects, until that's all they can get.

They would certainly be crazy to trade him this season.
If they can't get him signed though, they have to consider trading him just like any other expiring player.

It's funny, because early in the year people were talking about them blowing it up and trading everything not nailed down.
Now, I think you can say they'll probably buy to try and get another playoff run for Lundqvist.
