Grabner is an interesting rental option because of how cheap he is.
Lots of teams would want him, but he's a big part of the Rangers team.
6:55
Don't think they'll move it unless they tank over the next month

Gavin, when did offsides get so confusing? You can "tag up" as long as you do not play the puck in the offensive zone and wait for your team to get on sides? It is confusing for coaches, players and fans and takes a long time to review and now you get a penalty if you challenge and are wrong? Can we simple go back to enter the zone before the puck and its offsides?
Gavin Lee
6:58
The idea behind the tag up is to reduce stoppages as much as possible and keep the flow of the game going.
6:59
I do think it's one of the more challenging rules to wrap your head around as a new fan, but it would be a worse product without it.

I’d love to see them resign Grabner and you are correct, he’s a huge part of the team. But I would definitely look to move Nash, Holden, Desharnais, Staal(if possible).... thoughts?
Gavin Lee
7:02
Nash is likely too expensive to move for any real value, and has a partial no-trade.

Moving Desharnais would weaken an already weak position for them. If the thoughts are on the playoffs, they better be getting another center back somehow--and not just relying on Chytil.
Holden is probably the most likely to get moved if they keep going along as they are. He could fetch you a nice draft pick probably.

Does ovi have to win a cup to be considered one of the greats?
Gavin Lee
7:03
Apparently. He's already there in my book though Brian.
Connor

Krug and a 2nd rounder for Pacioretty?
Gavin Lee
7:04
I can't imagine this happening for a number of reasons, not least of which is that it's between Boston and Montreal.
7:05
I'll shut it down in a minute. But final thoughts--boy, running Pacioretty out of town seems so ridiculous to me.
7:06
He's one of the greatest players to play for the Canadiens over the past couple of decades, and is coming off five straight seasons of 30+ goals (not counting the shortened year) and is still just a point off the team lead.
He's not having a good year. It's true.
But it's so obviously not just his fault in Montreal.
7:07
If his 5.2% shooting percentage was up at his career norm, and he had 16 goals right now..how would people feel?
Connor
7:08
I don’t understand running him out of town either but I’d hope Boston jumps on the opportunity.
Gavin Lee
7:08
I think there fans of all 30 teams around the league hoping the same thing.
there are*

Anyway, I'll be closing it down there. Have fun with all the NHL hockey tonight, and the other World Junior semi-final.
