It definitely crossed my mind when the whole Dermott number-change thing happened.
I just don't think the Maple Leafs would weaken their center spot during the season.
There isn't anyone to really fill in, unless they want to move Marleau or Nylander there full time

Speaking of Bieksa, what does Carlyle insist to keep putting him out there, and for 17-18 minutes per game?  Isn't Megna, Welinski, Larson, and even Holzer a better option?  Or just giving the top 4 (fowler, manson, montour, lindholm) more minutes?

Hard to predict what will happen over the next few months, but I could see them as big players for Mikael Backlund in free agency.

I can't think of an option off the top of my head that would be a fit in trade for Pacioretty.
And they're not going to get Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Is Backlund the answer?

I don't think it proves anything other than it was a bad contract.
Bowman has made bad moves and good ones, just like any other GM.

Fab will for sure get a bridge type deal with being injured the past two seasons. I think Edmundson will get a decent deal.

Do you see Joel Quenneville or Stan Bowman being fired? Seems like Q might have lost the team, but not many coaches have had the success he has, and in any event a lot of their issues seem to stem from bad contract decisions.

I'd be shocked if Quenneville is fired by Bowman, and he said as much last night during the game.
He put his whole confidence behind him.
If they go, they go together I think.

They're not worried about burning out Andersen. Babcock, and more importantly Lamoriello, loves true #1 goalies.
Pickard wouldn't get any more than the back to back starts that McElhinney is getting.

He'll be very inexpensive, but if he's only giving you a handful of goals why wouldn't he be?

I've thought for a while that Nash would be an interesting add for the Bruins. Not sure if he'd play beside Krejci exclusively, but he could probably fit nicely into that group.

Tough to add that salary though.
Would have to send something back to make it work probably, and I doubt the Rangers would take on money like Beleskey unless they're getting a real top asset.
