I saw it from a few trade hounds I follow before I saw Grant and Brian talk about it then saw some stuff about it when I think Bergevin(might have been Martin Lapointe or Eric Crawford or both) took in a couple Flame games this week.

But, Matthew Tkachuk would certainly be up for an early extension.
I'd have to think Brayden Point would be a big conversation for Tampa.

They have some tough decisions to make though, since Kucherov will also be the big topic this summer.
Obviously, any of the superclass could all be extended.

Well, it definitely is rolling a bit now..but the big push you're waiting for might not happen until the last few days.
I could see the Red Wings cracking things wide open.

Definitely depends on that.
He could help now, but if they don't impress Murray soon he'll try to get the ELC to start in 2018-19.

Funny thing about Rutherford is that his depth pieces often play big roles.

I don't think they'll make any huge splashes like McDonagh/Pacioretty etc. But something smaller, maybe even a Pageau if they can really pry him out of Ottawa.

With the Penguins playing the way they are playing now, do you see them making a big move say Conner Sheary and 1st for Evander Kane or a small move for a 4th line center?

Maybe in the offseason, but I doubt at the deadline.
I don't think Colorado adds any big pieces.
They'll wait for Makar-Timmins to come and join Girard on that blueline.

If voting was based on actual value to his team, then sure.
But it's not, and he won't get any real looks without a big run at the end of the year.

It's funny you know..Spooner seemed as good as gone, because of clashes with Julien and a perceived lack of effort.
Suddenly, he's an important piece to one of the best clubs in the league.

I think if Boston does anything, it will be minor. I'm not sure I buy all the Nash/McDonagh stuff.

Substantial, but I think that's another offseason deal.
With two years left he's the perfect draft target.

Just as an aside, I'm dying to see what Timmins does in the OHL playoffs this year, if he gets back in time.
He's turned into one of my very favorite defensive prospects in the league.

Going back to your question on Spooner, if for some reason he does get traded, do you think it is to someone like Columbus who desperately needs power-play help? Because he was one of the better players a few years ago when they had that insane power-play

That's as good a fit as there would be around the league. They need help in the middle too.
