But boy..Torts and Spooner might be like oil and water.

Where is a good place to read about NHL prospects? Not draft prospects but minor league/already drafted or signed prospects.
Gavin Lee
7:16
Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler at The Athletic both do good work, but obviously that's a subscription.
7:17
Otherwise, you basically have to piece together team-by-team analysis. Years ago there was hockeysfuture, but I don't think they're operational.
7:18
There is definitely a gap after players are drafted.
Is that something the readers would like to see PHR fill?

Has Boone Jenner truly warn out his welcome in Columbus? Keep seeing stuff written about him and he’s having another down year. Could he be a realistic off season target for the centre needy Habs?
Gavin Lee
7:20
I don't think he's worn out his welcome at all, just think that people see the production dip and jump to he's available.
That said, Columbus has some tricky contracts to navigate in the coming years.
7:21
His will be telling.

7:21
What are the Stars looking for and who may be a good fit?
Gavin Lee
7:22
They're sniffing around for a winger that can help their second or third line.
Nash obviously has been connected, partly because of his fit and partly because of the Hitchcock connection.
7:23
I could see Grabner ending up there after Nashville makes a bigger move.
Sam
7:23
What does the Sosh trade mean for the Blues? I feel like they already have a million 3 rd line forwards.
Gavin Lee
7:23
It's a depth move with some upside.
7:24
His production is low, but he basically was never given a chance at anything but Matt Martin's linemate in Toronto.
He has some interesting offensive potential, but is likely just another body for a playoff run
Sam
7:24
Future trade wise?
Gavin Lee
7:25
I'm not sure they really need to add anything, but I'm higher on Sanford than many

7:25
What's next for the newly extended GM in Ottawa?
Gavin Lee
7:26
I'll pull an interesting quote from Custance's latest in The Athletic:

Let’s face it, Pierre (Dorion) is trying to recoup what he gave up in the (Matt) Duchene deal,” said an Eastern Conference executive. “He’s got to get back to even before he starts adding. His first-rounder is still sitting out there, unprotected from a year out. He’s scrambling to try and cover his bet.
7:27
That has to turn you from confused to scared.
Sam
7:27
Jaskin, Sanford, Sobotka, Barbashev, Berglund, Sosh, Thompson. That’s a lot of quantity but little quality, one has to go right?
Gavin Lee
7:27
Thompson and Sanford are already in the minor leagues. They can stay there if the others work out.
7:28
Depth is a good thing.
7:29
This is a team built for a long run.
You need at least 16 NHL forwards for that kind of thing.
Kipper
7:30
Speaking of depth. Does any player currently auditioning in the Olympics get an NHL deal for the rest of this season?
Gavin Lee
7:30
Is it a cop out if I say Jordan Greenway?
Kipper
7:31
No but are there others?
Gavin Lee
7:32
Gionta has always been an interesting one. I think he could have gotten an NHL deal if he was willing to go anywhere in the offseason.
7:33
If he wants to keep playing after the Olympics, there could be a fit for him somewhere.

Sounds like a total rebuild is inevitable. Stone, Karlsson, Ceci......all gone.....
Gavin Lee
7:33
I think Stone will stay.
Karlsson, I'm not so sure about.
Ceci I'd imagine eventually goes.
Ron Duguay
7:34
Who is a realistic D-Man that Tampa can add at the deadline?
Gavin Lee
7:34
Mike Green! But who knows if they go crazy and get McDonagh.
There is also the wildcard of Ryan Murray.
