Even though he's on an ELC, he's a third year professional. He joined the Griffins in 2014-15 and played the whole year there.

But guys like Brandon Montour, who played in the AHL in 2014-15 are not..since they played on an amateur tryout and not a pro contract.

Werenski-Jones-Savard-Murray is about as good as it gets in the NHL.
And the kid they brought over today, Carlsson, is a perfect fit for the bottom pair.

Yeah, there isn't the same insulation for those young guys coming into the system. Years ago, when guys like this came up they didn't have to be relied upon, because Lidstrom/Zetterberg/Datsyuk were just THAT good.
Now, they get exposed constantly, because Frans Nielsen is the best player on the team.

It won't be overnight, that's for sure.

But moving out Nyquist, Tatar and Green could get it moving in the right direction.
All three would get real assets, and then they could use their financial muscle to gather assets through other bad deals.

I always feel like Glendening is targeted, He seems like a hard working solid 8-10 min 4th line center, but the over employ him, mabye i have rose colored glasses on cause I like his effort

You're not exactly wrong, but solid 8-10 min centers don't need four year deals. I think that's more where the frustration from Wings fans comes from.
