Gavin Lee
5:16
Hey folks, welcome to another live chat.
5:17
Still trying to wrap my head around all the legal news today and what it'll mean going forward, but let's talk about whatever else you want.
Steve Bobson
5:17
Is there any place for enforcers in today’s NHL?
Gavin Lee
5:18
For now, it looks like there is a place in certain situations for them, as long as they can also play a few minutes and not get skated into the ice.
5:19
But in the future, I doubt they'll be there. With the development leagues all heading towards no-fighting rules, the next generations will have fewer and fewer enforcers.
Mark Watney
5:19
What should we expect to see from the Bruins this offseason?
Gavin Lee
5:19
It was kind of telling today when Sweeney talked about Spooner, I don't think he's on the team come October.
They need a real third center that isn't Backes.
5:20
I also would have said they would go after a defenseman, but I think McAvoy has impressed them enough to maybe hold off on going there.

5:21
Is there a reason why the Ducks activated Simon Despres off the LTIR? I assume he has no chance of playing at any point in the playoffs. They even announced him as a scratch, which they had never done for majority of the regular season.
Gavin Lee
5:22
I didn't even see that they had done that, to be honest. I think it's just because he doesn't cost any money anymore, and this way they can have him in the building as part of the roster.
But I'd have to look further into it. He's definitely not playing.
Anxious Bill
5:22
Do you think the Golden Knights will select Ben Bishop in the draft?
Gavin Lee
5:23
They won't pick Bishop, as he's a free agent.
They could sign him though, which would actually make the Kings exempt should it get done in the window before the draft.
I doubt they will though, as they'll have enough young goaltending through the draft (Grubauer, Pickard, etc) that they'll want to play next year.

5:24
Should Sakic still be in charge?
Gavin Lee
5:24
Tough season wasn't it.
I can't exactly answer that one way or another, but the way it went between him and Roy was sure ugly.
Not giving in and dealing Duchene at the deadline was a solid stance, and should pay off this summer if he puts him back on the market.
Steven H.
5:25
Are there any new decisions you would like to see Bettman make rules wise?
Gavin Lee
5:26
A colleague wrote about the delay of game penalty just changing to not allowing them to change if it's deemed unintentional, and I wouldn't be against that.
5:27
I've also said previously that I think they should put two line passes back in to slow the game down a bit, but that's more to do with injury than with gameplay.
Chef Cornwallis
5:27
Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup?
Gavin Lee
5:27
Ah, the all-important question.
Nashville looks so, so good.
Stan Bowman
5:28
And the next head to roll at the United Center is???
Gavin Lee
5:28
Trevor van Riemsdyk...all the way to Vegas.
5:29
or Maciver to Buffalo? Do either of those count?
Lavar Ball's Cousin
5:29
Lonzo or Lamelo?
Gavin Lee
5:29
Lonzo one-hundo-p.
Isaac Newton
5:29
Do you see anyone as the clear #1 pick in the draft?
Gavin Lee
5:30
There is no clear #1, and I think when our draft series comes out we may get three different answers on it.
We have some interviews lined up with scouts before the drafts, and there will be some interesting ideas pop up.
OHL Scout
5:31
Any rumblings on really young players? I'm hearing really good things about an '04 named Cooper Feinberg and I was wondering if you've heard about him.
Gavin Lee
5:32
That is still a bit out of my realm, but I'm sure I'll come across him eventually if he's that good.

Jack Hughes ('01) is a monster, and is heading to the US development program.
5:33
But, as an OHL scout you must already know that..
Roger Goodell
5:34
What do you think about GM McPhee?
Gavin Lee
5:35
He seems to really be up on how the game is changing, and willing to listen to people with ideas that might not jive with the old way of doing things.
That doesn't mean he's going to build Vegas into a winner, but it does give them a fighting chance.
