From my point of view, it's possible but not probable.

I honestly don't think the Rangers are interested in signing an aging winger.

They already have Rick Nash.

I've said for a while that Patrick is Eric Staal at his ceiling--which Craig Button also said the other day, which is a bit frustrating--and Martin Hanzal at his floor.

Hischier is a different beast entirely.

He could be Auston Matthews-lite, but also could have a much smaller impact than Patrick.

His defensive game is really natural, and he can take the puck from players seemingly at will.

McDavid will sign a big deal, no doubt. But his total probably comes in lower than Tavares if they both get done.

I've never heard anything personally, but I think they ranked high on the ballot that someone did. Let me see if I can find it.

Yeah, it was Custance when he was at ESPN. They ranked in the top 3 one year.
