Hope that a healthy Quick and better shooting year from Kopitar take them back to the playoffs.
Cammalleri was a nice sneaky pickup.

What do you think palat and tyler johnson cap hit will be and how many years
Gavin Lee
5:31
You'd think they would both eclipse Killorn's 6 years at $4.45..with Johnson probably getting a little more than Palat
With both you're buying out straight UFA years after this season, meaning it will get pricey regardless of term.
5:32
I'd say five years each, combined $11MM. Can Tampa afford that? It's tight.

Cammy to LA was sneaky, and a great price.
Gavin Lee
5:32
Really great price.

Where is Montreal at this point in the offseason? Still looking for a center? (Do they think Drouin and Galchenyuk be a good 1/2C -> that's probably best case scenario with Danault being the 3/4C with Plekanec)
Gavin Lee
5:33
There's only trade now if you're looking for a center, and what would they move?
Juulsen?
Unless they move Galchenyuk for a center, one of he or Drouin will probably have to start in the middle.
But I doubt both.

If  there is no arena for islanders taveras walks
Gavin Lee
5:34
You wouldn't be the first to suggest that, but I think he gets it done.

Okay so no marquee free agents restricted or unrestricted. I'm currently pretty frustrated with how McPhee has basically given away Kruger, Methot, Van Riemsdyk, Emelin for pretty much nothing. Am I going to be watching an AHL team in Vegas for awhile?
Gavin Lee
5:34
Not an AHL team, but not a very exciting one either. There are some really nice pieces there that you'll come to love.
Nate Schmidt is a gamebreaker, and Shipachyov will score consistently.
5:35
The Kruger/Van Riemsdyk stuff is all tied together so you have to look at it that way..Emelin was a shock to even be selected.
2nd round picks aren't nothing though.

Bo horvat what cap hit will it be and how many years
Gavin Lee
5:36
Gotta be eight years doesn't it? Vancouver is building around him.

Early picks for 'comeback/bounceback player' of 17/18 season?
Gavin Lee
5:38
Ales Hemsky, Patrick Sharp seem like good candidates.

Austin  matthees whats is cap number next year
Gavin Lee
5:38
Close to 10.
But it won't be for two more years.
Or, three I guess. He has two years left on his ELC is what I mean.

What's the Ducks Plan B, ie, next option after missing out on Marleau?  Do they take a shot on Doan?  I think he'd be a good fit..
Gavin Lee
5:39
I'm not sure Doan is a good fit anywhere to be totally honest.
5:40
What about a Thomas Vanek Steve?
JG
5:40
Any expectations of Anisimov getting moved out of Chicago?
Gavin Lee
5:40
I think it probably would have happened already..
Josh
5:40
Where do you see Vanek ending up? At this point in his career qhatt
Where will Thomas Vanek end up? At this point in his career what type of production would be expected of him?
Gavin Lee
5:40
He's a powerplay guy who can't be trusted against any skilled players. He's not quick enough to defend.
5:41
But he'll still give you a fair number of points if you play him in the right spots.
We'll see where he ends up, there are other trade dominos to fall before he finds a home probably.
Robert
5:41
Do you think after the McDavid signing we are going to see more of the extremely high price tag contracts? (Eichel, Matthews, Draisaitl)
Gavin Lee
5:41
McDavid is definitely an outlier.
