The Tavares situation is such a tough one, because even though he's obviously a phenomenal player, good teams can't afford to add him in free agency.

They're kind of over the cap. Franzen brings them back under whenever they need it.

Can't afford a long-term deal with AA though, which is disappointing I'm sure.

They're a tricky one, because they have a high ceiling and low floor.
If Lundqvist takes a step back or gets hurt, they could be in real trouble.
But Zibanejad could take a huge step forward and they still have a lot of talent up front.

Flyers appear to have an excess of bottom 6 forwards. Is there a market for them trade-wise or are they stuck shuffling between AHL and healthy scratches?

There is never much of a market for bottom 6 guys at this point, because if you wait until the end of camp you can get one off waivers.

That said, Philly does seem to have too many forwards. If Patrick makes the club, and they want to give a bigger role to Konecny/Weal/Vecchione someone is going to have to go.

I have a hard time thinking that Neal isn't moved at the deadline.

They can wait till next summer and he basically has no leverage.
