I actually kind of hope it happens..would force them to send younger players.
Todd

Caps lost Williams, Alzner, and Schmidt.  That's tough to replace.  I agree on Boudreau but I also think Mclellan
Gavin Lee
7:03
Not to mention traded Johansson and lost Niskanen early.
McLellan is definitely one, but I think they'd give him a little rope after the turnaround last year.
7:04
I understand that was so much McDavid, but he doesn't seem as stale there as Trotz would if Washington fell out of it.

7:04
I’m in agreement, I want a 1994 style Olympic Hockey tourney, mix of high end youngsters like Kariya and Forsberg with vets like Mats Naslund and Petr Nedved
Gavin Lee
7:04
Wouldn't it be fun to see Casey Mittelstadt beside Brian Gionta..and Jordan Kyrou beside Jarome Iginla?
Shaun
7:05
How about we don't send a hockey team (both US and Canada). That'll teach the IOC
Gavin Lee
7:05
I'm confused at who you're trying to punish here, and for what.
7:06
Don't want the IOC to ban doping Russian athletes?

Karlsson, VGK - Henrique,N.J. - Lindholm, Car.- Bennett,Cal.- Feska, Dal. - Bozak,Tor., Dvorak,Ari./ Of all those players which one of them becomes the Pens 3rd line Center and what is given for that player?
Gavin Lee
7:07
Not impressed with your Riley Sheahan I see.
JEFF
7:08
NO!!!!!
Gavin Lee
7:08
I'm sorry to tell you, but I don't think anyone.
7:09
Sheahan was the move.
JEFF
7:11
Sheahan was move to get us till deadline.... most all of beat writers have said that
Gavin Lee
7:12
I'm not sure if I agree. But they do always make a deadline move.

Does  cogliano test the waters this off-season or resign with the ducks
Gavin Lee
7:13
Boy is that a good question.
Normally, I'd say that he's back with the Ducks no problem.
But boy do they have some cap issues coming their way.
7:14
He's going to need multiple years, and they have so much money tied up in that defense corps.
His fate will be tied to whether they move Vatanen.
7:15
Remember that Montour, Kase, Ritchie all need new deals.
Doc Halladay
7:15
Who do you see the Habs pursuing in terms of a secondary Center? Danault is playing well and Drouin’s been solid despite faceoff issues but man Plekanec is has lost his offensive zone ability.
Gavin Lee
7:16
To be honest I still think they have one playing the wing for them, but I'll move on from that.
7:18
I wonder if they'll continue to talk to Vegas about one of their options, but a player I'd keep my eye on this season is Adam Lowry.
I know the Jets are doing well, and he's a good piece for them down the middle.
7:19
But with Ehlers and Little extensions kicking in, and him hitting RFA status this summer I wonder if they wouldn't be open to moving him.

Best player dealt at the deadline this season ?
Gavin Lee
7:21
Best...hmm. Kane, probably.
Obviously depends on what happens for the Islanders.

7:21
Do the Canes have the most promising D-Corp in the league?
Gavin Lee
7:22
Promising as in room to improve? They're already really good.
Some might say Philly has the most promising.
There is a LOT of upside in that group.
ol82nd
7:23
Seems with all the depth, they can get a top 6 that can put it in the net.
Gavin Lee
7:23
I'd still expect it to happen.
Frank
7:24
Does one of Hronek, Saarijarvi, Sulak, or Cholowski become a stud D-man?
Gavin Lee
7:24
Have you read the new piece on Saarijarvi at The Athletic?
