He is a good player, but how much are you really getting. Would he ever be an $8M player? Maybe in his best season, right?
So you're only possibly getting a bit of value there, and that's if he's healthy. Hyman is the same. Can he be a $7M player? Sure, maybe, but you're only getting a little bit of value if he plays at his ceiling
6:54
I've been talking about this in these chats since Jonathan Drouin arrived in Montreal and they immediately paid him. There is not enough emphasis placed on the excess value someone can bring, and how that's almost never achieved through a free agent contract.

RNH is paid 5.1. I think that's fair value.

It is fair value for sure, that's all he is though. Which is what I mean. Even him playing at his best, you're not getting a lot more than what $5.1M buys
Anyway, I'll get off the Oilers, I'm just another frustrated hockey fan watching McDavid struggle.

Sabres have any trade chips that will bring anything decent back? Thanks!

Colin Miller was going to be a nice little chip, but his injury hurts that
He'll be back before the deadline, hopefully, so perhaps he can prove he's still worth a third, or even maybe a second.

(right-handed defensemen are going to be very hard to come by, after the top couple of names)
There are a couple of other pieces that could be sold off, but not really ones that will bring big returns.
I wondered if they might flip Tuch, but that doesn't appear like it has any chance

Hi Gavin ! Wich TBL players you will see trade for cap causality this summer : Killorn, Pialat, Cernak, McDonagh or Stamkos ?
Gavin Lee
6:58
Palat is a free agent, which probably makes him the likeliest casualty
6:59
He's beloved there, but as you say, the cap crunch is coming
BriseBois has done a great job though. They have money coming off the books every year if they need it
7:00
Palat after this season. Killorn after next. Stamkos after 2023-24.
Who knows if they'll all leave, but it gives them the flexibility needed.

What does the future hold for Kadri?

Haha. He's going to get a whopper of a contract this offseason
Not sure where at this point, there is like two thirds of the league that could use him.
The one I'm voting for though, just for team chaos, is Boston.
7:02
Alright folks, I'll end it there, with the everlasting image of Nazem Kadri in black and gold.
Tune in next week!
