When the league stops testing asymptomatic players, will the Canadian teams that have to deal with border issues be at any type of disadvantage? Not sure if that makes any sense, but basically are the two things at all related?

They are definitely going to have an impact on each other, though the biggest thing is that most of the league has already tested positive at this point.
I could actually see it being a potential positive (no pun intended) for the Canadian teams.

Say the Senators play the Blue Jackets, Panthers, and Rangers on a homestand. Each of those teams need to fly into Canada, meaning they get tested, and could lose a whole whack of players all at once

The opposite is true, where when you return from a road trip you may lose a few players, but the Canucks, Maple Leafs, Jets, Senators, and Canadiens all have their minor league clubs in Canada, so they should at least have some replacements if scheduled correctly

In that case, I could see some of those AHL teams leaving players behind from road trips just in case. Minor league rosters often have people moving in and out, and having players ready to go up to the NHL is obviously the most important.
They won't be a taxi squad, exactly, but it might feel like that for some of them.

I don't think it's a guarantee, but I do think it's certainly possible.
The stuff at the expansion draft never had a lot of meat to it, just a lot of speculation.
The thing about Giordano is that even if you re-sign him, how long do you really have him as your captain anyway?

I think we touched on this last week too. It does seem to be headed that way, but I doubt it would be a deadline deal this year.

Debrusk makes sense in the same vein as Sonny Milano for Anaheim. See if you can fix it with more playing time/confidence.
But at the same time, I don't think Boston has a shortage of options when it comes to Debrusk
And overpaying for him certainly shouldn't be the option for San Jose

They have scoring coming in Eklund next season, and could probably add another young piece by moving Hertl, if they can't extend him
I mean they're in the race, but are they really in the race?
If they were in a different division they'd be feeling a lot different, I imagine.
