What's a realistic contention timeline for the Hawks?  It feels like they've been underachieving relative to their talent level. While obviously they have to shake up the D, they do have some young Dmen and their forward group is actually solid (at least in theory)

Honestly though they're not that far away from contending. Still have some great pieces up front from the last era, have acquired some great pieces for the next.

I'd re-sign Lehner if I was them, but they're by no means bottom feeders anymore.
If they made the playoffs this season after a heater I wouldn't be surprised.
Next year it's a very realistic goal.

There is no interest in Jonathan Quick I would imagine.

A bad goalie on a bad contract is not what anyone is looking for.
That said, he COULD be traded. Anyone can be.
I doubt it will be in-season though.

Sure Lafreniere is the best, but it's not like there isn't other talented players.

But there's no doubt Quick's body is failing on him.
He was always a pure athletic/reaction goalie, and he's 34 with several major surgeries now.
It just doesn't last forever
