Does Bill Guerin make any more moves or is he done making deals between now and the dead line ?
Gavin Lee
6:52
I do think there is at least one more substantial move coming.
Maybe Dumba, maybe Brodin
Bruins
6:52
Thoughts on eric engels ssying bruins have interest in kovalchuk. Di you think he will be a bruin at this deadline or simmer signing as free agent maybe ?
Gavin Lee
6:52
I think he might very well be a Canadien again next year to be honest with you.
6:53
The Bruins would likely kick the tires on him in the summer if he was a free agent, but I'm not totally sold they're going down that route at the deadline

How bad is the Rangers cap situation going into next year.I know recent buyouts have placed them behind the eight ball. But how bad is it?
Gavin Lee
6:54
So next year is the really bad Shattenkirk year.
The team has a $6MM buyout hit for him in 2020-21
6:55
Luckily Brad Richards' number comes down to just over $1.1MM and Spooner's is still just $300K
Excuse me, Girardi's not Richards
Richard was a compliance buyout.
In terms of how dire the situation is? It's not TERRIBLE, though they can't be spending all that much.
6:56
It's why a Kreider extension doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

Can you see the Rangers trying to move Staal? Smith? Skjei? I heard rumors about Brady but is there anything substantial on the horizon?
Gavin Lee
6:56
I'm sure they've been trying to move the first two for quite some time.
Going to be difficult, but luckily they both only have one year left.
6:57
In terms of Skjei, he actually seems like a building block but I've also heard whispers about his availability.
Ed Mio
6:57
What if anything do you think Marc Staal could bring back?
Gavin Lee
6:57
Nothing.
The Rangers would be lucky to get rid of his contract without using an asset to do it
Auston Matthews

I'll take the under.

Think the Preds will sell?  They should.  If they do, who has any value that wouldn‘t require taking on salary or giving up picks/prospects?  Feels like more like a tear-down than a rebuild-on-the-fly.
Gavin Lee
6:58
Boy is that club in a weird spot.
There are a ton of really good players there. But then there aren't very many great players.
6:59
And they don't have real blue chip, knock your socks off prospects either.
So you're right, in that they may have to tear a little bit away before they get back to what they want to be
Trouble is, so many of their players have such long deals.
7:00
If they perform up to their ceilings, this team is a Cup contender.
But if they don't, like this year...woof.

The Islanders and Senators seem to be a goid match on paper for a deal, no. The Isles need a top 6 forward and depth on D.  Will Lou surrender his first rounder in a package for JGP and DeMelo?
Gavin Lee
7:00
It certainly seems like a perfect fit, and something Lamoriello is used to doing isn't it.
7:01
Remember when he was in Toronto, he brought in Brian Boyle and Tomas Plekanec to give them help down the middle.
I would imagine he's trying to avoid using that first round pick though.

the Avs trying to Get Connor a real thing?..
Gavin Lee

I do not think so.

Gavin Lee
7:02
