I know he hasn't been that impressive this year
But I still take him first overall every time

I put this out to you before.  Looking at the STL Blues, how would YOU play the trade deadline.  There farm system is limited I am not sure you can make a trade without having the coming years in mind.  I feel like you would have to consider all options including what is available for Tarasenko and Husso?  Wouldn't you receive the most in return at the trade deadline for them?  The key would be what is in return.  But, there are so many teams looking to improve, if you got back young forward talent and a top 4 defenseman, maybe it makes sense to consider some sort of blockbuster trade.  Or do you give up picks and young talent for a Chychrun, Provarov type?  YOU tell me please and thank you for endless work.

The Blues believe they have a chance at the Cup and with the roster they have, why not?
If they can get good goaltending, they could do it (though it'll be torture in that division)
I can't advocate selling, even if you would get a good return
6:27
As for Chychrun, I think every team in the league should probably be knocking on that door
Obviously don't give up the entire farm but a 1st round pick for a good team is nothing compared to a cost controlled top four D
6:28
Three "first" round assets or whatever it is. I'd do it in a heartbeat

What are your thoughts on Matthew savoie. Can he be a legit point producer? Pretty slick player
Gavin Lee
6:29
He certainly can, and probably will. I'm still a little wary of taking the undersized guys at the very very top, because there's still bust potential built right in
It's even why I am a little hesitant to crown Bedard as the next one
6:30
I'm not saying draft 6'5 guys that can't skate and have stone hands
But there is a real chance that as small skilled players lose their time and get leaned on by big, strong, mean, professionals, the highlights disappear

How bad will the salary cap effect the Wild next year, will the lose some roster players
Gavin Lee
6:32
I do think it will probably cost them Fiala in the offseason
But again I'd like to point out here that those cap charges from Parise and Suter are less than they would have been had they kept them.

Any word on when the NHL will announce the results of Marchand's appeal?  Dang they are so secretive
Gavin Lee
6:35
No word yet. But I would be surprised if we don't hear something by the end of the week.
Remember that Bettman (or his staff) need to write up and vet the ruling too

Are any of these realistic rumors, rangers in on hertl, miller, r smith, chiarot, chychrun, ? Where is drury looking for help? Whose the youn b untiuchables?
Gavin Lee
6:36
I know they have tried on Miller for sure
I'm not sure how far any of the others went
6:37
And when I say "tried" I mean, asked about what it would take. Don't know if any offers have been made or anything
6:38
As for young untouchables--Fox, end of list.
I think they're willing to consider anything
I'd be surprised if it was Kakko, Schneider, or even Lafreniere.
If it were me I wouldn't be letting K'Andre Miller out of my grasp
6:39
Kravtsov they would obviously part with
Lundkvist has come up so much in chatter that I have to believe they would at least consider it
Though again, I'm not sure if I would unless you're getting someone with control

Do believe any truth to rumors that Parise and Suter were cancer to the Wild locker room. (Parise wanting to change practice rinks to one closer to his house, and Suter having the owners ear, going over coaches heads) seems to be a close locker room this year on and off the ice
Gavin Lee
6:40
I would certainly not call them cancers
Sometimes the room needs a reset though, and for new leadership to emerge
It gets the best out of some players when they are given a bigger voice and more responsibility.

Could a deal for Chychrun for lundell or McTavish be realistic?
Gavin Lee
6:41
I think those two in particular are basically off the table in any trades
6:42
There's a lot of other options in Florida and Anaheim though, if they wanted to get it done

Do the Bruins have a chance to win it all(more than a dumb and dumber "so you're saying there's a chance") ? I know the front office gives that lip service, but, their pipeline isn't robust and I'm just not sold on secondary scoring or thier D as a whole. Thoughts?

I've said this for what, two years now? I think their window is closed right now. Could moves like Hertl, who I've suggested here, potentially open it back up? Yes, maybe. I'm just having a hard time seeing that group really take a big step forward in the near future
