what Do you think of the jets chances of making the payoffs?
Gavin Lee
7:24
At this point it's not great, to be honest.
7:25
They've shown they need Hellebuyck to be a monster, and if he isn't they just don't have enough.
Three games from now it could look different, but they're going to have to battle right down to the wire.
Mike

Kings opened some cap space and have a ton of young talented prospects. How long until they are competing again?
Gavin Lee
7:27
They will be a bubble team as soon as next year I bet. One that sticks around in the race until mid-February, and then fades out.
It's going to come back for them. Lots of talent.
Nick
7:28
Stanley cup winner post deadline?
Gavin Lee
7:29
The Blues still look great, the Penguins are so deep, and the Golden Knights have apparently turned Alec Martinez into Nik Lidstrom.
Gonna be a fun ride.
Jim

Did the Bruins do enough to remain a favorite for the cup this year AND be the favorite again next year with the money available?
Gavin Lee
7:29
These guys too
7:30
Yeah, they'll be an excellent team for as long as Bergeron can maintain his 1C status.
There's actually a bunch more filler talent coming for the Bruins, so they should be fine even if they take a hit or two (like Krug leaving)

3-1 Florida oh man leafs are frustrating. If the leafs miss out, who is on the way out to round out this team?
Gavin Lee
7:31
They definitely look like a team with an AHL defense corps.
I'm not as convinced that they would trade one of the big names. I don't think that would happen this summer, even if they missed.
7:32
Lots of excuses to point to, even if they're not all that valid.

Overall thoughts on the ducks trades?  Do you think they did well overall?  What did you like, not like?  Appreciate it, Gavin!
Gavin Lee
7:32
Milano and Heinen have WAY more offensive upside than Ritchie and Shore.
7:33
But i'm not betting on either one to reach it
Selling Kase never made sense to me, unless you truly believe he can't stay healthy
Getting a first is nice I guess, but it's going to be like a 25+

Your final top 3 metro teams for standings?
Gavin Lee

Penguins-Capitals-Islanders
(sorry Philly fans)
Nim
7:34
Who of Sutter/Beagle/Eriksson is the most likely to be traded in the offseason?
Gavin Lee
7:35
I am convinced that they'll find a taker for Eriksson this time around.
7:36
Remember that $3MM of the $8MM left on his deal is paid out as a signing bonus.
Likely on July 1.
Mike
7:38
If pietrangelo is not resigned who gets him and for what number?
Gavin Lee
7:40
If a star defenseman like that hits the market, you have to wonder if someone like Steve Yzerman would go all out to bring him in and build around.
He's been clearing the books and they'll eventually want to spend.
7:41
Just like with Panarin, there aren't a ton of real contenders that can just drop that kind of a contract in.
Why not go somewhere you believe the management is competent and doing it right.
All of this is predicated on the "not re-signed" part though.
I still think the betting odds are he stays in St. Louis
Mike
7:43
Hughes and kakko not having a great rookie year. Will they be legit players.... say in year 3/4?
Gavin Lee
7:43
I wouldn't bet against them at this point.
7:44
I know we've been blessed with some incredible rookies stepping right in, but there are so many others that take some time.
Connecting…
