I'll guess he does

The Rangers do have, if memory serves, in the neighborhood of 12 million coming off the books....
Gavin Lee
6:45
Yeah it's not necessarily that they don't have the actual cap room for Buchnevich, I just mean with Panarin and Kreider already there long-term, it's hard to commit big money to another winger with Lafreniere/Kakko and others coming
Maybe they just play arbitration with him and do it a year from now
But they'll be paying Fox big bucks in two seasons too remember.
6:46
Definitely not guaranteeing a Buchnevich trade at the deadline, but I wouldn't be surprised, honestly.

Is Fleury a contender for the Veniza trophy this year?
Gavin Lee
6:46
Certainly
6:47
He was the front runner at one point
Probably Vasilevskiy now, but Fleury has a .933 and is a legacy player in the NHL.
Great story helps get votes

What innovations will ESPN bring to the game in future years?  Will they push behind the scenes for a different OT (more 3 on 3)?
Gavin Lee
6:48
If only you were Linda Cohn, you'd probably already know this
I couldn't even begin to guess at what ESPN has planned, since I don't work there.
I hope it's good, whatever it is

Gavin, do you see the Avs making a play for Hall? Or just making a play for a goalie? they have some cap space with Johnson on the ltir ...... Makar and Byram are back tonight how big of boost is that?
Gavin Lee
6:49
It's funny, I thought in the offseason that Hall would be a great fit with Colorado
6:50
I still think he would be, but at this point I think he may truly be cursed
Maybe don't rock the boat with a name that big, if you're Colorado
As for getting back Makar and Byram? Huge, obviously
I am of the opinion that Makar is one of the best players in the entire NHL. Not just defensemen, not just young players
He's just one of the best, period.

Hey, Gavin.  If the Blue Shirts part ways with Quinn in the summer, which coach(es) would check meet their criteria of developing young talent, particularly with forwards?  Thanks.
Gavin Lee
6:51
Haha, this question has evolved from "WHEN WILL THEY FIRE QUINN"
6:52
I know dipping into the college list might not be the right move in New York again, but honestly Seth Appert is a great coach and will be in the NHL at some point.
6:53
I imagine Buffalo would have first dibs, but I think they will go in a more experienced direction for their next coach? Actually who knows  where that organization will go
Joe
6:54
Do you think gallant coaches the sabres
Gavin Lee
6:54
I think Gallant will have much better offers
So no, I don't
Phil
6:55
As a Sabres fan give me some hope...please!!
Gavin Lee
6:55
I'm so sorry
The Bills are good?
Also they're going to win tonight just for the storyline
Sean
6:55
is there are goalie you see it making sense for the Avs to bring in? Rinne? Gibson? They can’t run run Grubauer out there every night.
Gavin Lee
6:55
I don't think Rinne is going anywhere
6:56
Gibson is one of those offseason deals I would think, if he ever becomes available at all.
I wonder if teams will try to put pressure on Columbus to give up one of their goalies at this deadline
They're probably going to have to move one at some point, just don't know if it would be in-season
Cliff Ronning
6:57
Are both the coach and GM gone in Vancouver after this disappointing season?  Will their jobs be saved if they sneak into the playoffs?
Gavin Lee
6:57
That's the thing isn't it, they won't be that far out of the playoffs if they miss at all
