The team already blew past the slide mark that could have given them another year of ELC control
He's an NHL player at this point.
Needs some help, but he's there to stay I would imagine

Does the next draft appear to have the type of impact player which could grant some excitement to Buffalo?
Gavin Lee
6:49
There are exciting players in the 2021 draft to be sure, but there's no McDavid.
6:50
The good thing for Buffalo is, there are some big names coming in future drafts and they don't look like they'll be out of the lottery by then
Connor Bedard is eye-poppingly good
Think Buffalo can get the first in 2023?
6:51
(even if they don't, Bedard's not alone. Fantilli and Michkov wouldn't be a bad player to build around either)

Will Florida realistically be able to sign both Barkov and Huberdeau to long term deals? Or is it more realistic that it’s one or the other if they get fair market value?
Gavin Lee
6:53
I think they'll get both done.
But, they better be careful.
Huberdeau will be 30 when his contract is up.
6:54
Just when you think that names like Hornqvist, Yandle, Stralman will all be off the books by then, I think they can make sure both are kept.
Bill Zito is a good executive.

Is Winnipeg a better team going forward than Toronto?
Gavin Lee
6:55
Well, there's one thing that Winnipeg has that Toronto doesn't, and his name is Connor Hellebuyck.
If Toronto can get even league-average goaltending, they're probably a true contender. But the thing is on any night, Hellebuyck might just stop everything and hand his team the win by himself.
6:56
I tend to like the team with the goalie
Even though I think Toronto is a deeper overall skating group
With one out-of-this-world talent at the top of it

What are your thoughts on a Parise for Skinner deal? Would the Wild consider a swap like this if the price is right in hopes of sparking the offense?
Gavin Lee
6:57
They might! Unfortunately Parise has a full no-movement clause and I very much doubt he would waive it to go to Buffalo.
6:59
Now, a three-way deal where Minnesota takes half of Skinner's salary, Buffalo takes half of Skinner and Parise, and the Islanders get Parise? Wow
(Oh wait, the Sabres don't even have cap space either)

Is Johansson the answer for the Avs at backup or should they be shooting higher?
Gavin Lee
7:01
I feel like this is a joke about how he looked on that shot from Chychrun
They should be shooting higher
Calvin Pickard

CALVIN. PICKARD.
