I'll say no.
Sharks fan smh
6:30
assuming sharks buyout jones, what goalies do you think they would look at in free agency or on the trade market.
Gavin Lee
6:30
Are we assuming that? That's a tough pill to swallow. I guess it's for the best, but six years of at least a $1.6MM hit is tough
6:32
Free agent goaltenders this year, by save percentage:

Chris Driedger
Mike Smith
Petr Mrazek
Jonathan Bernier
Pekka Rinne
James Reimer
Antti Raanta
Jaroslav Halak
6:33
Not a very inspiring group is it!
Wait I think the list is missing some
Anyway, it's not a great free agent crop!
6:34
Grubauer, Andersen, Rask in there too
6:35
I don't think you're really finding a franchise-stabilizing presence on the market this summer.

Does marner get traded and what’s a package he could get
Gavin Lee
6:35
I do not think Marner is being traded
As much as Maple Leafs fans seem to want it
Dan V
6:36
Speaking of an Eichel trade... wouldn't he have to pass a physical?
Gavin Lee
6:36
He would have to take a physical, but you don't have to be healthy enough to play to be traded.
"passing a physical" often refers to "as long as our doctors don't find anything we weren't aware of"
6:37
The neck injury definitely complicates things though
The Sabres are going to have to get far down the trade talks with a team, then let them talk to Eichel's camp and figure out how to proceed
Because no team is going to move big assets for a player who refuses to follow their medical team's advice

6:38
with Larsen behind the bench in Columbus, would that aid Jones staying would Larsen be at the helm for the complete rebuild?
Gavin Lee
6:38
I don't think a rookie coach will change his mind on testing free agency, no.
6:39
Perhaps if they carry Jones into the season and things start to go well next season, but I just think right now he feels like seeing his options on the open market
6:40
My honest feelings on Larsen getting the job is "we're going to suck for a few years, so let's see what this guy we know and like can do"
If Larsen doesn't do a good job, who cares? They are rebuilding anyway and his job is just to develop the next wave
6:41
The fact that Larsen and his family live in Columbus adds to the "we want people who want to be here" as well

Love me some Guentzel and Rust but if I really did “have to” move one or both, where are some possible destinations and what would each return look like?
Gavin Lee
6:43
For Guentzel, you're probably looking at more than half the league who would be lined up
He's a very strong offensive player with three years at a reasonable cap hit
His return would be very, very good for the Penguins if they decided to move on
6:44
Rust would be a little more limited, if only because he's a year away from free agency
I think pretty much any contender would love to have him though
You could probably nab a first-round pick+
6:45
Even though the Penguins feel like an old team, they're really not. Lots of assets there if they decide to move the pieces around

6:46
who takes the job as Ranger coach?
Gavin Lee
6:46
As I said above, I think Gallant ends up with the Rangers
6:47
Just feels like a perfect fit at this point
But boy, do you think that World Championship performance upped his asking price?
What a turnaround for that team
Apparently Gallant+Power+Mangiapane = magic
Eric
6:49
What one move you see the blues making this off-season to improve the team
Gavin Lee
6:49
Honestly if it were me? It's just letting some of the older guys walk and giving more responsibility to the young ones
