What are your thoughts on Logan Brown? I liked him a lot in his draft year (good size, hands, etc) but he hasn't shown much as a professional. Maybe a change of scenery and coming home to St. Louis will unlock some of that potential, or is that just wishful thinking?

For me, the thing is I don't really care how good a 23 year old was when he was 18. The years in between those two ages are the most important development seasons in terms of pro upside, and I don't think Brown has done enough.

I don't think there is any amount of work that he can do now to unlock the potential he once had.
Can he play in the NHL for St. Louis? Maybe, but I don't think anyone should talk about his 11th overall status ever again
That's now what the Blues are trying to get out of him. If they can get a bottom-six regular, it's a win.

I hadn't realized until the other day that Bunting still qualified in Toronto. It's silly, but imagine if he plays beside Matthews or Tavares all season.
Lucas Raymond in Detroit will be an interesting option, because of the powerplay time he will get

I was looking over the team point projections over at Evolving-Hockey, and there were certainly some interesting numbers. They seem awfully high on the Devils (97.3!), Wild (94 and ahead of the Jets), and Kraken (96.3) and lower than I would have expected on the Stars (85.0). Thoughts on these or any others?

I haven't looked at them directly, but I imagine a huge bump for the Devils is Hamilton, who has usually been among the most valuable players in the league by their metrics

Kraken is maybe a bit high, the Wild will be a good team, 94 is certainly within reach

The one thing those models often can't control for is players getting increased or drastically different opportunity
In New Jersey, for instance, Hamilton won't have Slavin anymore
