I still don't understand why there is such a huge contingent of Bruins fans that want to move Krejci.

But it would certainly be possible, though there wouldn't be a huge return.

He holds a hefty no-trade clause and still has a big cap hit. But he also put up 73 points last season and is the key to the Bruins' secondary scoring

First of all, I doubt the veracity of those rumors very much.

It's why you haven't read anything on them here at PHR.

I think the idea of making a big change in Dallas must have happened, but trading Benn at this point seems like such a drastic move that I don't see it happening.

Moving him also won't change what ails them right now.

I think Jack Johnson, Nick Bjugstad or Bryan Rust are still probably the most likely candidates, but the injuries have complicated things.

So has Erik Gudbranson turning back into a pumpkin.

On the Krejci trade, he'll put up half those points this year, and only trade if the other team takes the salary. B's don't need anything in return, the cap saving would be it. He is a liability especially at his salary.

I don't understand how he's a liability. The Bruins are getting almost zero offensively out of everyone but the top line (and Torey Krug).

I think they'll add secondary pieces like last season, but not for another few months.

Hey Gavin - Do you think the NJD may be better off trading one of Butcher or Severson for a more defensively oriented Dman? Also, what is your feeling on Hall resigning?

"defensively oriented" defensemen are usually bad defensemen.

The ones that are excellent in their own end and can still move the puck are really expensive and don't come around that often.

Sure, if they could add another top-4 guy it would be useful--but I don't think there's really a swap to be found.

Hi, Gavin. The Rangers recent stretch has been nightmarish. Aside from the top line (and even that has been tinkered now), the team has looked worse than last season. Give me some hope for the future and a reason to believe in Coach Quinn.

The kids haven't been good enough, quite frankly. Neither has Hank.

But the idea that the Rangers were going to go straight to Cup contender was a bit strained anyway.

Let's ride it out and see what happens in 3 months.
