Hey Gavin... what are thoughts on what Gudbranson can bring to the Ducks?  Can he be an effective mid-pairing guy?  Or at least a legit 5/6?  Does he ever reach anywhere close to his potential of being a #3 overall pick?  Thanks!

If you think Gudbranson is going to make any substantial improvements at this point, you're probably going to be disappointed.
He'll turn 28 in a few months, he's played nearly 500 NHL games.
This is what he is, and it's not a mid-pairing guy.

Don't get me wrong, he looked good for a short time last season for Pittsburgh. There may be a stretch he looks good for Anaheim. But thinking that he will be worth anywhere near what they have to pay him is foolish I think.

There are definitely some warning signs, but let's give them Hyman, Dermott and Tavares back before we write them off completely.
