Well, Mikheyev will return at some point, and the team doesn't have any cap flexibility when he comes off LTIR

Moving one of those two would add some

But more than that, it's probably about trying to squeeze some value out of them before it's too late

I don't know if they're a top 5, but they look pretty good so far.

I would point out that they've played the Kings three times in eight games, for whatever reason. Don't think they've done enough yet to prove that kind of stature

They are better and a LOT more fun to watch

But it's just going to be so tough for them to place in the top 3 of the Atlantic, and beating out the Metro teams for those last spots will be almost impossible, I think

It's been a lot of the older guys playing well for the Ducks too!

I said in the preseason I thought the Ducks could be better, though I didn't think it would be Kevin Shattenkirk playing at a point-per-game pace that got them there

I still don't think they're all that great though, and it's in part because I never really believed in that Jones/Steel/Comtois wave

I took my lumps on Comtois as he scored the last couple years, and he probably will turn this around, but I still don't see a huge difference maker in him.

As a Ranger fan, they seem tougher than last year but not as talented. I am hoping they made these "tough" decisions because of the Playoffs. They still lose too many draws and Their D in their own zone AND PK looks questionable. Any thoughts on who may be available that the Rangers can jump on??

I didn't like the "toughness" moves, but at the same time I kind of understand what they're trying to do.

If you really want to build this workman, grinding culture, there will be times where the team looks incredibly unskilled

I think people a little bit overestimated how they'd be a contender this year. They're about right where I thought--good record, not quite dominant, but winning games when they can
