Do you think Ryan Strome can keep up his solid play (not at a ppg, I realize) and get the Rangers to extend him this offseason?
Gavin Lee
6:24
Some would tell you he was the team's best center down the stretch last season. Strome has found a home in New York, but I'm not totally convinced that he's in the future plans.
This is a really young team that will need to give out a lot of money if everything goes right.
I'm not sure they would want to commit to him long-term.
6:25
They still have control for another year though. No rush.

What do I do with my dmen once Larson is back?
Gavin Lee
6:25
"these things have a way of working themselves out"
6:26
I don't know how you take Bear out.
Frederick

Another question Gavin :). I know it's early but as of now where does McMichael go for you in a redraft? I'm a huge fan and he's looked like a steal at 25 so far
Gavin Lee
6:27
I was a big fan during the draft process too.
6:28
London breeds NHL players, and they traded Robert Thomas for him when he was still just a pup in junior.
His success doesn't surprise me in the least.
6:29
In a redraft just a few months later? Who knows. Too early.
He's a great player and prospect.

What market do you see for Quick
Gavin Lee
6:32
He's one of the worst goaltenders in the league right now, with three more expensive years on his deal, soon to turn 34 with major injuries in two of the last three seasons.
Would you want to trade for that?
Normally when a team desperately wants to move a player, that player's market isn't very big.

6:34
Will Arizona make any moves this season or are they content at what they have. I believe they need scoring help if they hope to make it to the playoffs.
Gavin Lee
6:35
I imagine they will be interested in adding scoring as you say, but the Coyotes actually are in a tricky cap situation that makes it tough to add at this point.
6:36
I know that's hard to imagine after the decades of them struggling to even hit the cap floor, but they're actually one of the teams using long-term injured reserve space.
6:37
Don't think they'll be adding the big name you might be hoping for.
Frederick
6:39
Speaking of Quick, with Petersen looking good last year and Campbell taking strides while being signed to a reasonable cap hit for 2 more years, what's the likeliness of a Quick buyout before the end of his contract? I also believe LA organization may have to consider as I believe he's subject to cap recapture if he retires before the end of this deal
Gavin Lee
6:40
Unfortunately the deal isn't a very buyout-friendly one.
6:41
Because of the back diving nature of it, buying him out this summer doesn't save you a ton.
It's definitely possible, but I'm not sure if we'll see it
6:42
LTIR retirement seems much more likely to me, though obviously there are complications with that as well (the player has to actually be hurt/agree)

Are the Canucks for real or was their recent 3 game road-trip with very low goal totals an accurate representation of what they are?
Gavin Lee
6:42
I don't think you should look at three games over any period and try to conclude something.
6:43
I think they have a ton of talented players all over the ice and they are going to compete for a playoff spot this season.
Mainly because of how impressive Quinn Hughes has been
But there is something to be said for the depth they built.

What name will seattle team name be I say sockeye or emeralds. What do you think
When are they going to announce the team name
Gavin Lee
6:43
Sounds like it'll be before the All-Star game.
6:44
No idea what it ends up being at this point.

6:44
Bruins sputtering a little should I be concerned?
Gavin Lee
6:44
I think you always should have been concerned that they were relying so heavily on the top line...but no not really. Too talented a team to really go in a tailspin.
They'll right the ship
