I mean those two don't affect each other's powerplay time, so I'm not sure if I understand the comparison.

I always think of Rick Nash when I see him, though that's obviously not today's NHL.

The thing for him is that his long reach and protection doesn't take him to the net like Nash used to. He protects and finds teammates more, when he's at his best.
Scoring is part of it, but he is a really talented playmaker.
