The Canucks really need a President as well.... y'know like an NHL team.  I question how many candidates would be seriously interested in the GM job in Vancouver with the owner insisting on being so involved.  In a perfect world, is Jeff Gorton a good candidate and available?

Gorton is a good candidate for a GM job, but he had years left on his deal with the Rangers, right?

Canucks would have to buy that out (or at least a portion of it) to get him, again not sure they want to do that while Benning is still being paid
And, like you said, would also need him to be interested
There's only 32 of these jobs though, so even if it looks bad there will be interest for sure
