I personally wouldn't be very trusting of Khudobin at this point
6:19
Fleury is an option, though he may be at the top of the list of a few teams.
You know who I wonder about though? If the Sharks fall off or decide to sell, James Reimer I think could be a real option for Colorado
6:20
He's signed next year as well at a reasonable price and has been great
CanN
6:20
How long till Nucks fans turn on Rutherford, can he help them turn it around
Canucks fan
6:21
Why JR..  whyyyyyyyy
Gavin Lee
6:21
It already happened
Lots of people weren't very happy about this, I think. That Jack Johnson contract seems to be in a lot of people's minds
6:22
I'm not saying Rutherford is the best GM ever, but the Canucks have been a directionless mess for years. He will bring stability at least, and probably bring in some very, very smart people
Rob
6:23
Are the Ducks a playoff team?
Are the Red wings a playoff team?
Gavin Lee
6:23
We'll do the Red Wings first, because I think they're going to fall short
I just don't think it's there yet, plus I think Yzerman is going to sell some of the veteran guys
I don't think he's ready to push it in, so I think their last third of the season won't be great
6:24
The Ducks though, whoo-boy are they a lot more fun to watch these days
6:25
I don't know if they can hold onto the divisional playoff spot, but I really think they are going to be competitive for a wild card
Elwood
6:25
What's your take on the hits by Trouba from the last two nights?
Gavin Lee
6:26
I think they're both clean hits that not many players in the league decide to make anymore.
I don't necessarily like them, because they can result in real injury even though they're "clean"
I mean on Khaira, he could have just taken the puck but he had decided to blow him up
6:27
On MacKinnon it's harder, you can't go puck at all, he's in a dangerous spot and trouba is mostly flat-footed
As I watch hockey, I do wonder if there will be a swing back to hits like that somewhat, because so many players put themselves in vulnerable spots now.
6:28
I mean his edges are great, but I cringe every time I see Mitch Marner backing through the slot with the puck
All it takes is some more guys realizing that they can take advantage of these dangerous positions and you might see a bit of a wave of them
John
6:29
Who will you be watching in the upcoming world juniors?
Gavin Lee
6:30
The draft-eligible kids for sure, but I also can't wait to to see players that may have dropped a bit in the draft but are off to fast starts.
Matthew Knies, Sasha Pastujov, for instance
6:31
Would love to see Mason McTavish and Jake Neighbours hit the ice together
And seeing Edvinsson will be great. I imagine he's going to play a ton for Sweden
Victory Green
6:32
Bishop is in Cedar Park for a conditioning stint. Looks like Khudobin is the odd man out. What kind of return could Dallas get for him?
Gavin Lee
6:32
A pick, but not a high one
6:33
I don't think anyone is rushing out to get him, but there are lots of teams who would probably rather him than their current backup
Oneal
6:33
Are NYR this good, or is just smoke and mirrors this early
Gavin Lee
6:33
Gerard Gallant is a good coach. Haha
His time burns bright and quick, but he has that group playing
6:34
The thing about New York was always those young defensemen. If they could get them all moving at once, they can be a powerhouse
Now Trouba's also playing great hockey and things are rolling
Still not a fan of the offseason really--Goodrow's deal still boggles my mind, but there's so much talent in that organization it was bound to click at one point
Play Hockey, EH
6:35
Will the Sabres be making any major trades to get better?
Gavin Lee
6:35
They will, but not right now
