If anything they'll be making trades to get worse, I regret to tell you
6:36
The good thing is they should just get better when they get healthy.
Tuch especially should be a big boost to the lineup

6:36
is there any chance will re-implement the Taxi Squad this year?
Gavin Lee
6:36
They have talked about it, but currently no momentum toward that I do not believe
The one thing to remember with the taxi squad, when people talk about it, is that the AHL hates it
It takes the top line and top D pairing off every team in the league
6:37
It worked last season because they weren't even sure an AHL season was going to be possible (and really, it barely even was anyway).
But it's hard to make that move now

6:37
As buffalo is building, is Krebs a legit top end player or just a support piece ?
Gavin Lee
6:38
I don't think he's a franchise guy, or even probably a first-line guy, but he's going to be a good NHL player
Get enough of those together and some of them suddenly seem like top-end guys because of the supporting cast

Was surprised that Brandt Clarke was not part of the selection camp. Any reason why in your opinion?
Gavin Lee
6:40
Honestly I have no idea. Everyone was surprised
The Canadiens legitimately may have 7 left handed defensemen at the tournament.
Not only did Clarke seemingly deserve to be at the camp anyway, but I don't really know which right-handed guys you'd even have ahead of him
6:41
Look at how the two practice groups are listed today:

The upload's not working for some reason but here's Wheeler's tweet of it

6:44
So I take it the Flyers should just take it on the chin and rebuild, right?
Gavin Lee
6:44
I don't think they really need a full rebuild
Still lots and lots of young talent in that organization
6:45
Moving on from Giroux, trying to flip van Riemsdyk, and committing to some of the new young defenders for a year or two, and they can turn it around
6:46
Who knew that bringing in Rasmus Ristolainen was a mistake? (everyone)
Scott
6:46
How much stock do you put in the 8-5 record the Hawks have since changing coaches? If the Hawks sell, who are some guys they can get value back for?
Gavin Lee
6:47
The thing about the Hawks is that the most valuable pieces on the team are the young guys who you wouldn't want to sell
6:48
There are no 27-31 guys on expiring deals that can be sold for a big deadline price.
I guess Calvin de Haan, but, really that doesn't seem like one that'll bring back much.
There's Toews and Kane, but they're not going anywhere, I don't believe.
There's Strome, who will likely fetch a nice price, but that's still trading him at a low value relative to where it was
6:49
As for stock in the record? Not a lot. The team has enough talent to go on an 8-5 run at any time, I don't think it's indicative of some extra outstanding coaching
6:50
The fact is, they should have been competing for a wildcard spot this year, and then they went 0-10 to start or whatever it was.
You don't come back from that (St. Louis fans be quiet, haha)
Old school
6:51
I would love to see one game a year where players have play a game with wooden sticks
Gavin Lee
6:51
Wow, me too
6:52
Let's see Trevor Zegras try that with an old Koho

6:53
Will I ever get a true #1 centre? If so, when, how ?  I think that Larkin is a #2 and Suter is a #3. Am I correct?
Gavin Lee
6:53
Yes, I don't really see Larkin as a true number one either.
The thing is, it's really hard to find those players
You can be competitive without them, too--look at Minnesota
