Brian McClellan has suggested the Caps would look to acquire a young player at the deadline with a mix of picks and players like with Rasmus Sandin last year. Who are some speculative additions who would fit that bill today?

Anything has to be a money-in, money-out move. I don't think there's a W/C upgrade out there worth moving Ullmark for. I would move him in a Buchnevich deal, but STL has no desire for a goalie

I think it's more likely DeBrusk is on his way out for someone better in his price range (~$4MM with retention)

Wouldn't expect any of the 3 get moved. Holl's contract is too steep for an in-season deal, Maatta is their best shutdown D by a mile and should stay if they're serious about exiting the rebuild, and Perron has been in extension talks

Since the Panthers have been extending a few players lately, but not Montour or Reinhart, can we expect either of them to not be a panther at the start of the 2024-25 season?

I can see them getting priced out on Montour, but I think they'll make it work with Reinhart
I'd call it 85% that Reino will be back, closer to 50/50 on Montour
