It's not gonna cripple them, not by itself
But it's just a mistake that was avoidable

I think what the Krak are doing is genius. The side trades with “desperate” teams to clear cap are going to horrific for everyone but Seattle.

One thing to note about this, Seattle is not allowed to buyout any player selected tonight
So instead of taking those big deals in the draft, there may be some handshake agreements to take them on afterward

Tavares is worth his deal
He's just not worth MORE than his deal, which is how you win in the NHL
The Maple Leafs just don't have any contributors that are earning considerably less than they're worth
