They also have very valuable expiring assets that are surely going to be overpaid if they extend them.
I wouldn't do a tear down, but I think I would move out some select pieces.

Good point re: Islanders. But how often are teams actually in position to win like this? No guarantees they get this goaltending again. Isles fans have waited a long time. Time to go for it!

I wouldn't expect fans to want anything different! They've done such a great job this season turning that program around.
I just think that there might be a longer vision of success if you cash in a bit.

Not to monopolize this convo, but what would a guy like Eberle even bring back? He’s on a down year; I see no way he or Brock Nelson would bring back a first round pick, and Lee is the captain- can’t imagine they’re letting a second captain walk again. Thanks for the chat!

Is the next few months of Eberle more valuable than say, a 2nd and lottery ticket defense prospect?
