I have to move Russel and Nuge for a scoring winger dont I?
Gavin Lee
6:25
No, you need to stop trading good players to patch holes.
There are a lot of ways to acquire wing talent
One of those ways is to develop it.
Keith
6:26
Russel needs to move to clear some cap and give one of the guys in the AHL some room though
Gavin Lee
6:26
Yeah, I wasn't talking about Kris Russell.
He could be moved out, but that's just one of the bad contracts on the team.
6:27
Unfortunately he has a no-move clause at the moment.
Mike
6:27
Do you think Duchene would be a good target for Montreal
Montreal should be all over duchene. He would be their number 1 center and I think he would fit perfectly with Gally on his side
Gavin Lee
6:27
I do think that would be a good fit, but I'm not convinced Duchene is a #1 center.
I never really have been.
6:28
That said, there are enough good players up front for Montreal now that he could certainly succeed.
Just have to be careful with whatever contract someone hands out this summer.
Elwood
6:29
Can you elaborate more on your "much more preferred landing spots for most names"?
Gavin Lee
6:30
Well I don't think Panarin, Pavelski, Karlsson, Bobrovsky etc are going to have Buffalo as the top destination.
6:31
The two Sharks I still think will probably stay put, and the two Blue Jackets have had plenty of speculation about the Sunshine State.

6:31
Do you lean more towards Marchand being the best at chirping or the worst at chirping?
Gavin Lee
6:31
He certainly riled things up with that Haggerty tweet earlier.
6:32
I'd have to be between the benches to really know who is the best.
But the fact that Leo Komarov apparently chirps in several different languages has to get him up the list.
Jason
6:33
How does Washington sign Vrana and Connelly this off season?
Gavin Lee
6:33
Someone will have to be leaving out of those two and Burakovsky, and it's not going to be Vrana.
6:34
He also may have to settle for a bridge deal. Remember he's not arbitration eligible yet.
I think Connolly's recent comments make it clear he knows he may not be back.
Saying that, I'm sure they'd love to get him if they can find a way to afford it

6:35
do wild trade zucker this summer?
Gavin Lee
6:35
I think yes, in all honesty.
There's obviously interest, and Fenton seems hell bent on changing up this group.
6:36
The name in Minnesota I'm really going to be watching though is Jared Spurgeon.
Heading into his last year, does he get an extension or is he sitting there as a rental?
Mike
6:37
Can you see Pittsburgh trading away a big player like Malkin or crosby. To help with their cap hit
Gavin Lee
6:37
Zero chance.
Kessel has maybe a possibility, but they're not trading Malkin or Crosby.

When the leafs lose in the first round.  What are the chances Babcock gets canned with Dubas’s guy coaching the marlins?
Gavin Lee
6:38
You know, a few weeks ago I would have said zero chance
But now maybe there is like a tiny bit of me that says it could be possible. If only because Dubas likes to work outside the box.

If Kronwall does in fact come back next year, how do they fix the log jam with Hronek, Kronwall, Dekeyser, Green, Daley, Ericsson, Cholowski, Bowey, and maybe Sulak?
Gavin Lee
6:40
I mean that's only eight, maybe nine defensemen. Not a huge log jam.
You'll have four defensemen that are 34+. Rotating them in and out isn't crazy, and lots of teams carry 8 defensemen all season.
