There was an instagram (I think) poll sent out the other day from the team that mentioned things like mythical creatures, historical figures and something else. Nothing is decided at all
Though I think three different executives have shot down Kraken now.

Did you want someone to ask you about the cal last night?
Surprised it hasn’t happened yet
Gavin Lee
6:53
I'm surprised too, but there's not much to tell.
It was a missed call, it's a bad look for the NHL.
6:54
I'm not one to want more reviews though, personally.
The reason this one feels so bad is because they added in offside reviews. If they never did, this would just be a blown call
Palat
6:54
Have I had a down year(two years in a row) or is there too much talent ahead of me now? Am I a trade candidate because of my salary?
Gavin Lee
6:55
Injuries have really hurt Palat the last few years, but he's still an important piece for Tampa Bay when he's at full strength.
6:56
He's probably their best defensive forward outside of Brayden Point, and is versatile enough to play up and down the lineup
Still, there are lots of trade candidates in Tampa Bay right now because of the crunch they'll be in
The first one is obviously Ryan Callahan, but getting rid of the worst contract on the team isn't the only way to clear space. A player like Palat might be able to bring something of value back

Any chance that Jersey takes Kakko ahead of Hughes?
Gavin Lee
6:58
Don't get me wrong, there is always a chance.
But Ray Shero has connections to the Hughes family from a long time ago, and I don't think he'll hesitate in drafting him in June

Gavin, Sam Girard had 27 points this year (4 goals and 23 assists) at some point will he have to produce more points or his is skating and puck moving enough?
Gavin Lee
7:00
I don't think we should overreact to a 20-year old defenseman failing to produce 30 points.
Girard is an excellent player and will certainly set a higher bar at some point.

7:01
Gavin, if the avs do take Byram could it turn into a situation like when Nashville took Seth Jones? And they have too many dmen and Jones wasn’t getting the playing time and eventually traded?
Gavin Lee
7:01
Sure, it could turn into that if everyone pans out as expected. But that's not something they need to worry about right now.
7:02
I'd expect Byram to go back to the WHL for a year (even though he already dominated it) anyway, at which point you're coming up on the end of Tyson Barrie's current deal.
Cole is gone a year after that, who knows where Nikita Zadorov will be.
7:03
Draft the best player available, and work it out later.
To be clear though, there is nothing to say that Byram is #3 on anyone's board.
I like him, but there are some really talented kids here.

Hey Gavin!  What do the ducks do at #9?  Who do they hope is available?  Who actually is that they grab?  Thanks!
Gavin Lee
7:04
Speaking of talent, there is plenty of it way down at 9. No chance you can guess who exactly the pick is because it's so dependent on the teams ahead of them.
7:05
But here's a spot where the Ducks could go off the board a bit if they really believe in a player.
Caufield for some offense, or maybe even Philip Broberg if they like his defense
7:06
Vasili Podkolzin is a real wild card who could go anywhere from 3 to 15
7:07
Then there is Cam York, who is from California and would be a marketing dream

7:07
I cant remember the playoff officiating ever being so poor.  the last few years it felt like the playoff standard was excellent but this year it's been downright poor, not even considering the sharks blown calls
Gavin Lee
7:07
Definitely the consensus.
7:08
Probably just an aberration, but it's been tough to watch at times.
Garrett
7:08
Gavin, what are the kings doing this offseason? They are kind of a mess right now.
Gavin Lee
7:08
What, you don't think signing Nikolai Prokhorkin will solve everything?
7:09
The Kings are a team that have a sneaky good prospect pool right now. A few more shrewd moves, and a few more years of development and they could be right back in the mix.
Would expect to see some heat around them at the draft
Or leading up to it at least
