I think nationality has very little to do with NHL success.
They had a lot of good players.

I still think Phil Kessel could be moved, but if he isn't it might well be Kris Letang.
Who knows who the actual biggest name will be though.

I just don't see why they would do that.
They'd have $4MM in savings this season, but still a $5.4MM cap hit in 2020-21, when they likely need it more.

I just don't think it's a great solution.

I think if you waited until next summer, you could probably get rid of the last year of the deal since he's only owed $3MM after July 1 2020

Yep. The Duchene trade from Colorado to Ottawa, for instance.

They're in a fine situation I think. Subban is at least serviceable, but they can go after a better one in free agency if they want.

It's funny that you put them both in the question, because someone has been leaking interest from both Vancouver and Edmonton for each of them
Those teams are obviously possibilities, but I think there are probably two dozen teams calling about Zucker.
