I think they'll be in about every conversation, but I've actually been surprised by their lack of movement so far
Shero has always been open about the fact that he wouldn't rush the rebuild
6:53
But, once you add Jack Hughes you don't want to just pick a bunch of third rounders and hope they contribute in four years.
You want to start competing now

Is B. Rust from the Penguins on the trading block?  The Penguins seem to have a glut at forward with the recent Matta trade.  Are there rumors of packaging Rust, Johnson and the first for the second pairing defenseman; Klefbolm, Nurse or Martinez?
Gavin Lee
6:54
I have not heard those rumors, no.
I imagine you mean Jack Johnson, not Adam Johnson
6:55
Jim Rutherford has called this the best defense he's had since he joined the Penguins.
Johnson or Maatta were going because of cap reasons.
I don't think they're going hard after another second pairing guy
Rust is a very important piece up front because of his versatility.

What if anything do the blues do to try and re-peat?? Do you think they have what it takes to repeat?
Gavin Lee
6:57
They certainly do!
Remember this is a team that has young forwards like Kyrou, Kostin, Bokk and Foley coming.
If Binnington is the real thing, the Blues are going to be a contender for some time.

6:58
Hey what do u see bruins doing at draft FA and trade wise??
Gavin Lee
6:58
It sounds like they will be trying to re-sign Johansson, he fit in so well after the trade there.
6:59
Other than that, I'm not sure they can really jump into the fray with both feet until they figure out how much McAvoy and Carlo are going to cost
Not that they need to make any huge moves, they're a good team.
Backes isn't going to be bought out, so they'll try to find a landing spot for him I'm sure.
7:00
(Maybe they already have one and are waiting to pay his $3MM bonus on July 1)

Do you know of any articles or places where they list/properly value draft picks value in relation to each other? I know of the St. Louis University article and one from a Flyers blog, but both are like 10 years old and I question their applicability today. Thanks!
Gavin Lee
7:00
Let me see if I can find it quickly..
Though I haven't actually gone through their methodology
Can't seem to find the one I first came upon

7:04
Hey Gavin, what do you think of the Tyson Barrie for Bo Horvat rumor?
Gavin Lee
7:04
I don't doubt that the Canucks have Barrie on their radar, but I will do a 5 hour chat if they trade Bo Horvat.
(I do not believe they will)

7:05
What do the wings do at 6?
Gavin Lee
7:05
I'm guessing Zegras, but there is some chatter he might go higher.
7:06
I imagine it'll be one of the forwards.

7:06
What do the Coyotes do with 14? Keep it take best player available or use it as an asset to try and find some Winger scoring help?
Gavin Lee
7:06
I think that decision will come in the middle of the first round.
7:07
They have to wait to see what's happening with the first ten picks, and if someone like Podkolzin is going to fall to them.

Are there any European Free Agents that we should know as fans? Aka, who is this year's Dadonov?
Gavin Lee
7:08
No one of that level. The big Euro free agents have already signed (well most of them). One name to watch is Oliwer Kaski in Detroit. Loads of talent.
7:09
In terms of a forward that was off the radar, Dominik Kubalik in Chicago--though he was actually drafted.

What would it cost LA to trade with Colorado to get Byram if he's there?
Gavin Lee
7:10
I mean theoretically it shouldn't cost THAT much, but I'm not sure if Colorado would do it.
