There is a lot more to Lehner than just his numbers.
He is not exactly the most...consistent..person.
I'm not saying he's a bad teammate, or anything like that. Just that it takes work to get him on his game.
6:42
I think it was a great move for the Islanders, especially given what was out there.
Kari Lehtonen
6:42
I’m better than Phoenix Copley in Washington, right? And I’m a better option in case Holtby falls apart again, right? Right?!
Gavin Lee
6:43
Yeah I can't believe that Copley is currently still the plan in Washington.
But, I do think he's probably not a horror show at the NHL level.
Just not what I expected from the reigning champs.

Which teams would you consider to be the most likely trading partners in a Jacob Trouba discussion?
Gio
6:43
Should the Jets trade Trouba
Gavin Lee
6:45
You'd have to think that almost every Canadian team would be interested in bringing Trouba aboard, but there have been inklings in the past that he would rather return to the US.
Whether they move him entirely depends on the relationship there.
6:46
Cheveldayoff and the Jets are the only ones who really know what's going on, and if they can save it
Right now? I'd trade him, because he's going to UFA in a year.
Sorry, in two years, after another arbitration
The Jets have enough defense (and still Sami Niku coming!) to contend still
Adam
6:48
Most surprising player to move to Europe?
Gavin Lee
6:48
Trying to remember everyone that has left this summer.
Off the top of my head, Ben Smith signing in Germany a few hours after captaining his club to the Calder Cup was an odd one
Gio
6:49
Bergevin has played his hand badly, with pacioretty and previously Galchenyuk?  Why is he still in charge.
Pacioretty deserves better than how bergevin has treated him?  Your thoughts
Gavin Lee
6:49
Bergevin doesn't hide his feelings on players, this much is true.
I'm not sure players "deserve" more than that though.
6:50
I do think he's played his hands badly by doing it over the years, and minimized assets that he has.
6:51
Unfortunately the Montreal GM job has to be among the most difficult in the entire NHL, and ownership still believes in him.
It won't last forever, but it's not like there aren't marketable players in Montreal or a chance that everything comes together.
From the outside the situation looks bad, but 30 teams don't win the Cup every year.
6:52
Some ownership is willing to let a GM work through struggles.
Calvin Pickard
6:53
CALVIN. PICKARD.
Gavin Lee
6:53
Couldn't agree more.
Inquisitive Minds Want to Know..
6:53
What return do you think the Jackets can get for Panarin? You think they move him?
Gavin Lee
6:54
You know I though they could get a massive return, and then Skinner went for a pretty underwhelming package.
Panarin is obviously a much better player, but it's not like teams are banging down the door to add scoring wingers apparently.
6:55
I think the Blue Jackets have to keep trying to keep him, but Kekalainen will do whatever he thinks makes his team better in the long run.
6:56
He's not intimidated by difficult decisions.
Zac
6:56
What moves do you think the Red Wings make to get Larkin signed?
Gavin Lee
6:56
I wouldn't be surprised if they sign him before making any moves.
6:57
Remember they can go up to $7.95MM over the cap during the offseason even without LTIR
As for what is coming though? Glendening apparently had interest last deadline, and he should be moved if he still does
6:58
Helm and Nyquist are the other obvious choices, but both have no-trade clauses.
