Man, if only there was some NHL news this chat would be fun.
Welcome, former Sens fans.
6:01
I'll let some stuff roll in and get started fairly quickly.

How good is the second line going to be know that it has Pacioretty and Stasny on it?
Gavin Lee
6:12
Probably the best part of acquiring Pacioretty for the Golden Knights is that their second line, which was originally up in the air given the potential players, now has some built in chemistry.
6:13
Pacioretty and Stastny are great friends and have played together internationally, and should form a pretty dynamic duo on the second line.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best in the West, but it's definitely good enough to help get them back into the playoffs.
6:14
I'd imagine that Tuch gets the first crack beside them, and that group could be very effective.

6:14
How many more years do you think Fleury will be a solid #1?
Gavin Lee
6:14
To be honest I didn't think he was going to be an above average starter last year, but I doubted basically every part of the Vegas roster.
6:15
Here's the thing, even if some people don't want to believe it. Fleury is an elite talent at the goaltending position, and always has been.
No, he's not an all-time great. But there are very few players who can stay as consistent and healthy as he has been throughout his career.
6:16
If he posts a .915 save percentage for the next four years, will anyone be really surprised?
I'm not sure how many more Vezina-type seasons he has, if any, but I'm also not sure if there's going to be a rapid decline.

How will the citizens of Ottawa overthrow the tyrant Eugene Melnyk?
Gavin Lee
6:17
The worst part of this comment is that Karlsson today stated he'll be an Ottawa resident for life.
He's one of you.
Chris
6:17
Do you think Morgan Frost will make the Flyers this year? If so, what kind of season could we expect from him?
Gavin Lee
6:18
I don't think he'll make it, but holy crap did he take a step last season.
Going into that 2017 draft everyone looked at him and said "boy, his ceiling could really be something" but many weren't sure if he'd really hit it.
6:19
I think Frost is close to a Mitch Marner-type talent for the Flyers, if a little different of a player.
6:20
Philadelphia should be unbelievably excited about the state of their franchise.
Chris
6:20
Who gets more points this year, Burns or Karlsson?
Gavin Lee
6:20
This is where my mind went too, when the whispers started.
I think I'll say Karlsson, but it really could be either.
6:21
Boy do I not want to take a penalty against the Sharks this year.
Big Dave
6:21
realistically, will any of the players the Sens received today be useful in the near future, or was it basically Karlsson for picks?
Gavin Lee
6:21
They'll definitely all be useful, in different amounts.
6:22
Tierney is a good player, though I'm not really sure how he'll help a rebuild exactly.
He's a few years away from UFA status and doesn't have that real star quality that could speed things up.
DeMelo will log some minutes and probably be flipped at some point--though I caution much optimism given that Vegas passed on him only to flip Schlemko.
6:23
Balcers we've talked about here before, and how I didn't think he'd crack to Sharks roster this season--I don't feel that way about Ottawa. I'd bring him up
He's a real talent.
6:24
Norris is the real wildcard though, because he could potentially become a shutdown top line center, or fade into a third-line checker.
This is a big year at Michigan because he'll likely be their top option in the middle.

6:24
Is Hellebuyck a top 5 goalie again this year?
Gavin Lee
6:25
Definitely has a chance, though there is obviously lots of competition.
6:26
Don't think anyone would be surprised if it ended up with Vasilevskiy/Bobrovsky/Gibson/Holtby/Jones or something like that as the Vezina vote would they?
Regardless, Hellebuyck is a great starter and should have a great year.

If Seattle gets a franchise how are the divisions realigned?
