In reality though, he was never just a 9-goal man, and he's probably not this 30-goal version either.
Playing well, but getting some very nice bounces too.
We'll see what his line looks like at game 40.

Do devils make a move sooner than later
Gavin Lee
6:25
Doubt it. They're getting Bratt back now, and Santini back soon.
That'll help, and they should wait to evaluate in a few weeks.

What do you think about how the Coyotes season so for? How bad does the loss of Raanta temporarily hurt when leaving on a long road trip? Can Raanta stay healthy?
Gavin Lee
6:26
I hope Raanta can find some sustained health, because boy he's fun to watch in net when he's on.
It hurts a lot to lose him, don't kid yourself. Kuemper is a fine backup, but you don't want him starting more than a few games in a row.
6:27
Their start was horrendous, then much better, and now in question.
We'll see if they can maintain the good feelings for the next few weeks.

Will Ristolainen ever be a true #1 defenseman? What’s his offensive upside?
Gavin Lee
6:28
The same as the Rielly question last week, that depends on your definition of #1 D.
Can he be one of the best 31 defensemen in the league?
Yes, at his peak--I don't think he's there right now.
6:29
Can he be a legitimate star, who can do it all and challenge for the Norris? I don't see it.
His offensive upside is very good, 15 goals and 60 points in an outstanding year.
But it has certainly been limited some by Dahlin's arrival, given that he'll likely take a big chunk of powerplay time for the next decade.
6:30
More likely the expectations should decrease slightly, and Buffalo fans should accept Ristolainen as a very good top-4 guy.

Will Jake Allen ever put it all together over the course of a full season?
Gavin Lee
6:31
I'd put money on no.
As long as "put it all together" means play at the highest level he's shown capable.
6:32
I don't think there will ever be a Jake Allen season like what he showed in the playoffs two years ago.

If the bruins decide they need two forwards, such as Kevin Hayes and Panarin for example, would they be able to find someone to give value for Krejci and make it happen?
Gavin Lee
6:33
Tough to find a lot of value there, given the big money leftover.
A contender might want Krejci to put them over the top, but it's hard for anyone to fit him in.
Plus the no-move, but those can always be worked around.
Ducks
6:34
Could the Ducks rebuild or would they re-tool?
Gavin Lee
6:34
There are plenty of talented players in their pipeline. A re-tool is possible.
Probably wish they still had Shea Theodore though...
Mark
6:35
Any chance of Dominik Simon playing with Crosby and Guentzel over an extended stretch?
Gavin Lee
6:35
That's definitely a decision that isn't up to me.
But the Penguins are going to try everything.

You don’t see the the Coyotes going after the Panarin/Hayes/Duchene guys which I agree with. Who are some sneaky under the radar Chayka type guys who may be available? Or are they so for under the radar we won’t see it coming?
Gavin Lee
6:37
There are definitely other names that will be available that could interest the Coyotes when the time comes.
Guys like Jakob Silfverberg, or Gus Nyquist.
Durych
6:37
Maybe internal candidate Nick Merkley when healthy?
Gavin Lee
6:38
Merkley is definitely a candidate to get into the lineup right away when he's healthy

I'm not a guy who watches a ton of other teams play.  I keep reading about players being traded to the Leafs for Nylander.  Is he worth a top 4 D-man, Faulk, a NHL forward Temo T. and a high draft pick?  Seems mighty high
Gavin Lee
6:39
All of those things?
