Hey folks, welcome to another live chat!
6:05
How about that Mike Smith? (Sorry Calgary)
I'll let some things roll in and then get started.
Frank

Season ends tm - pick ur conference finalists and cup winner based on what you’ve seen so far.
Gavin Lee
6:11
Tampa Bay is the class of the East, and probably my Cup winner at this point.
Especially if the season ended tomorrow, and Nashville had to start the playoffs without Subban/Forsberg/Arvidsson
6:12
The West is way harder to determine. Nashville and Winnipeg are both excellent teams, but will have to go through each other.
I've loved Calgary for a while (as long time participants of this chat will remember) but their goaltending simply isn't reliable enough

Are the Hawks finished for several years?  Any way to move some heavy contracts?
Gavin Lee
6:14
I'm not totally sure there is much appetite from the Hawks to move some of the "heavy" contracts you may be referring to.
6:15
Can't see anyone actually taking Seabrook, and can't see the Hawks trading Keith unless he asks for it.
Both players have an NMC
I do wonder about Saad, but that's a tough trade to make.

6:16
who are the kings going to trade and what will the return be
Gavin Lee
6:16
Wouldn't be surprised if several core players are moved.
Carter, Toffoli..maybe Martinez or Muzzin
6:17
Nothing imminent, but there are changes coming.
I'd be shocked if they didn't go after prospects more than picks, only to try and do the reload quicker with Doughty
Ben F
6:17
What would Coyle or nino bring back in return?
Gavin Lee
6:18
I know everyone has been talking about Coyle recently, but I just don't really get the rush to trade him in-season.
He's been a loyal soldier for a long time, and can play anywhere.
6:19
Just a few weeks ago the Wild were considered one of the best in the West
I don't think the playoffs are out of the question for them.
All of that said, Coyle would bring a heck of a lot more than Niederreiter I would imagine, if only because of the contracts.

Do you see don sweeny addressing the defense or do u see him looking to bring in offensive help and would they bring in
Gavin Lee
6:21
I've been pretty consistent with my thoughts on Boston, and how they won't rush to spend huge on the big ticket items at the deadline.
Sure, they'll kick the tires but I think they will go after the second tier of forward help.
Coyle might just be in that group
6:22
Addressing the defense is different I think, because they don't even have room to really fit in a high-end guy
When McAvoy, Carlo, Chara and Miller are all healthy they don't even need more defense.
But can they get them all on the ice at the same time for the rest of the year?
Ninja Cashman
6:23
Thoughts on Kevin Hayes? Will he get traded, and if so what kind of return can we expect?
Gavin Lee
6:23
I do think he'll get traded, but closer to the deadline.
6:24
He'll be among the most sought after names this season, and it should bring back a very substantial package.
6:25
I'd imagine something like the Nash package in fact, which should excite Rangers fans.
Eichel
6:25
Odds Buffalo keeps up it's white-hot start?
Gavin Lee
6:25
Well we've already seen them come back down to earth from that white hot start
6:26
They have put themselves in a very good spot for a playoff run though, following that same path that Toronto and Colorado paved
Just getting there would be a proof of concept for this group, and one that can only help their pursuit of a "winning culture"
6:27
I think they can do it
