What the rangers best strategy at the trade deadline?
Gavin Lee
6:37
I'd honestly sell whatever isn't tied down, and keep building this system that is going to explode in the next few years.
But that's a tough way to sell tickets.

Clayton Keller seems to have taken a step back this year. Has the league figured him out, or is it just a sophomore slump?
Gavin Lee
6:39
I know it feels like he's taken a step back, but he's still on pace for 60 points as a 20 year old.
6:40
Arizona can't score goals, and it's not just because of him. I mean Brad Richardson is their leading scorer with 10.
Get that system going again and his offense will come.
He's incredibly creative.

Is it time for the Habs to be worried about Price it will it now be the norm for him to miss stretches of games?
Gavin Lee
6:41
I think that time was two years ago wasn't it?
Goaltenders get hurt, a lot.
6:42
We don't know how serious this latest one is, but Price has a history of playing through things.
The bigger worry is if these things keep happening, if he can ever get his mojo back.

What position do the blues need help with aside from goalie? I recently heard they are 7pts out of a wildcard spot or something along those lines and hopefully they get those wheels turning for the playoffs!
Gavin Lee
6:44
They need their current forwards to play better, to be honest. Adding another name isn't going to fix the fact that Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz have combined for 10 goals.
6:45
I'm not sure they're going to turn things around. There is something rotten happening there.

Is Rod B.A feeling the hot seat yet?
Gavin Lee
6:46
Don't think that will happen for a bit yet.
He's a legend there, and a hand picked coach.
But they need to find a way to score.

6:46
The Canes lack any kind of PP.
Gavin Lee
6:46
This is part of the problem.

6:47
Is there or has there been a situation where a PP expert is called in to fix an ailing PP?  See Carolina
Gavin Lee

Last season, Pierre Turgeon was hired as an "offensive coordinator" in Los Angeles to help them score and improve the powerplay.
He's gone after one year.
6:48
There are plenty of coaches around the league who can run a good PP, but it comes down to the player's execution.

Is Guentzel’s deal as much of a bargain as I think it is? I’d take him at $6 mil AAV all day!
Gavin Lee
6:48
It's actually a pretty good deal, yes. But boy does it complicate things even more in Pittsburgh.
6:49
The more I look at those finances the more I think that Kessel is actually going to have to be the one to go.
Mark
6:50
Kerfoot is looking better than I thought he would. Could he end up being a long term top 6 forward, or is he better suited on the 3rd line?
Gavin Lee
6:50
I think the idea of "3rd line" is disappearing, but I don't think he'll ever be a guy who logs 17-19 minutes.
6:52
I think he'll settle in as a 15-minute guy who can give you some really good production.
Which is just fine for the Avalanche.
John
6:52
Ovi MVP?
Gavin Lee
6:52
I would love to see it.
6:53
Long time readers of this chat know that I floated the Gretzky numbers some time ago.
I would just love to see that kind of hockey history.
Mike
6:54
Who’s the odd man out when Boston gets healthy? Will Donato be sent down?
Gavin Lee
6:54
They actually need to send someone down after the game, or put someone on injured reserve.
They're currently at 24 roster players, something only allowed during the transaction freeze.
