Yeah I would say he's been OK. You mentioned the turnovers. That's another area where he doesn't excel. I guess for a first-round pick I just want a player that does something extremely well. I don;t feel like Edmunds does anything extremely well. Is that fair?

Glad the “chats” are back!! What was the problem?    Miss the quality coverage not found anywhere else!

The quality coverage never went away. We continue to provide high quality content. Hope you enjoy everything we write as the Steelers try to secure a playoff spot over the next month.

The more this defense finally plays, I really don't think that we can afford to lose Bud Dupree- what % chance do we have now of paying the money needed to keep him?
Steelers insider
2:30
It's going to be hard because he's going to command a lot of money on the open market. I suppose if they wanted to keep the momentum going with the defense they could place a tag on him, but that would be a steep price. They'd have to make some other moves to create cap space if they're going to do that. I can definitely think of a few areas of the team where they can cut salary, but then they'd be creating holes on the roster and they'd have to draft or sign someone as a free agent to replace them. It's going to be tough, but I guess we can worry about that when the season is over.

Also, what self-respecting “Commentator” asks to not have his name shared because he is expressing opinions? This is all very weird.

If you follow me on social media you'd know who I am. I promoted the return of the chat about an hour before it started.

Do the Steelers hold onto that 6th playoff spot? Any chance they surpass
Steelers insider
2:32
If the Steelers make the playoffs I think they'll be the No. 6 seed. In order to catch the Bills, who are 9-3, I think Bills would have to lose out.

Just wanted to say that I am very proud of the Steelers.  Sunday's game could have been a slug fest with people hurt and penalties all around.  Instead, they went the route of playing it for Pouncy.  It was a positive way to play the game.
Steelers insider

I agree. They handled that situation very well. It was basically an elimination game, and they got a tough win when they were missing some key players.

Tell me we can keep Hargreave and Dupree next year.
Steelers insider
2:34
Going to be extremely tough to keep one of them let alone both.

With the emergence of James Washington do you think the Steelers will run Juju out of the slot on 3 WR formations ?
Steelers insider
2:35
Good question. I do think they have some better options now that Washington has established himself as a dangerous player.

Why do we still run the jumbo package with Holton as the one wide?  Why not Washington or even Cain?  They seem like they'd do a much better job drawing attention or making a play
Steelers insider
2:37
I agree with you. If Cain was out there instead I think the threat of a pass would be much more believable. And he could draw a safety out of the box with more effectiveness than Holton, who hasn't made a lot of plays. I guess Holton is a decent blocker, but boy the opposing defense knows the Steelers run 95% of the time out of that formation.

Saw Dupree and Watt switched sides a few time against the Browns.  Has this happen a lot and I just missed it?  Seems like a good way to shake things up a little.
Steelers insider
2:38
Yeah I like it. It gives the tackles a different look in-game and it makes them prepare for different guys during the week.

Do you see Rudolph regaining the starting job this season?

Not if Duck keeps winning.

Do you think there’s a chance the Steelers look at RB in next year’s draft? I’d like to see them upgrade there and or on the OL.
Steelers insider
2:40
I think they need a tone-setter at left guard more than an RB. A big run-blocker that can move and also pass protect. I wouldn't mind seeing an RB taken in the third round or after, but if it's me calling the shots I'm getting a nasty run blocker for the line. Then all your backs look better. Plus, I think Snell can be a good option for you. Maybe not a feature back but a guy that can play. Then you just need someone to complement him once Conner plays out the remainder of his rookie contract.

If Big Al's play really is dropping off do the Steelers have an in house candidate who could compete for the LT job next year ?
Steelers insider
2:43
2020 is the final year of his deal. The Steelers have Zach Banner and Chuks Okorafor on the roster as developmental tackles. I don't know if either is capable of being the starter next season. I think the hope was Okorafor would be that guy when they drafted him, but he's only dressed for one game this year. Usually when guys ascend to starting jobs for the Steelers they have roles the previous year. For instance, Feiler had been the swing tackle and guard and now he's a starter. I'm not saying Okorafor can't do that, but I think they'll let Villanueva play out the final year of his deal and then deal with who the starting left tackle will be in the spring and summer of 2021.

If the Steelers don’t extend a 2nd contract to James Connor (a real possibility) is the next starting RB currently on the roster?
Steelers insider
2:44
Lots of teams go with a running back by committee approach. Why can't the Steelers? And yes they have guys on the roster who can be effective with a committee approach.

So... at the end Hodges rookie gaff'd and stopped the clock by throwing it away... all while Washington was wide open on opposite side, downfield. I just get the feeling he knows it and will not do that again... I like him.
Steelers insider
2:45
I like him, too, but he can definitely improve his game by avoiding mental mistakes such as that one.

how many sacks does the D rack up this week ?
Steelers insider
2:46
I wouldn't necessarily be worried about sacks this week as much as containing Kyler Murray and making sure he doesn;t beat you with his legs.

Should the team make a stronger effort to keep Hargrave this offseason?
Steelers insider
2:48
He's a really good player. In an ideal world you keep him. But if I'm deciding between Dupree and Hargrave I'm trying to keep Dupree because Tuitt is coming back next season, and you can always draft a nose tackle in the third or fourth round. There are no guarantees he'd develop into the player Hargrave is, but my point is Dupree would be much harder to replace. And yes I realize he'll make twice as much as Hargrave next year. I'm just talking about this from a football perspective.

Deion Sanders compared Ramon Foster, answering a question, at his locker, about Kitchens' childish t-shirt to a Hall of Fame acceptance speech, saying he's (Sanders) is with the coach & HoFers don't talk like that... Could Sanders be more clueless?
Steelers insider
2:49
I'm confused. I'm just glad I didn't catch what Sanders said because you;re right he's clueless.

based on PIT, TEN, OAK, and IND remaining schedule, who do you see as taking the AFC 6th seed?
