Hello, yes they do. They have a "wet" dissection room where you would get the chance to work with cadavers.

Hello, as the interview is an online version of an MMI, each station will assess something slightly different although it is likely that all of them will also be assessing communication skills as well as some of the other things I mentioned that reflect NHS values.
I believe there will be 4 stations (programmes vary between 4 - 6 stations) but you will be told that in any documentation you receive regarding the interview. It is typical that they will ask you about your personal statement so you need to know it thoroughly and be prepared to back up or provide evidence as necessary. You may be given a task which could be realting to something in the news (i.e. reading an article) or other written task. Decision-making, prioritisation, professional conduct (how you act in certain circumstances) are thing that have been assessed before but I can't say for certain which ones they will choose for the virtual MMIs.Stations selected will still allow a candidate to demonstrate their attributes across several areas

What types of questions will be asked in the interview?

Hi,  yes preparing answers to possible questions you may get asked is a good thing to do! There are two main areas you should focus on. Firstly the Institution and the course:
·      Show you have researched the University in detail, do you know specialisms of the lecturers or what awards have been won recently?
Knowledge of how the course is structured, what module choices are
Wider opportunities that are available at that university
Show that you are passionate by keeping up to date with developments in the media
Secondly, you and your experience:
What makes you stand out? Work experience, awards etc.
Make sure you know your personal statement inside out as it is likely that you will be asked about it. Always re-read your personal statement before any interview and make sure you don’t lie or embellish your statement too much as you don’t want to forget what you wrote!
The STAR technique is a good way to ensure you provide examples! I hope this helps.

The criteria will be things like meeting the minimum entry requirements, having a reference and of course skills, values and traits as demonstrated in your personal statement. As a health-related course, they will be assessing values that the NHS are looking for as well as looking for qualities that they think makes a good student at Leeds. The NHS values can be found on the web, so typically things like communication, care, compassion as well as professional traits like being responsible (showing leadership or decision making skills for example) and so on. Your interest in the subject is also important and you can demonstrate that by any care-related experience you may have, observations or shadowing, whether virtual or face-to-face and any summer schools or events that you have participated in. I hoep that helps but please get back to us if you want to hear more.

Hello, I was wondering how will  the interview be structured?
Teresa Storey

Hello, the MBChB at Leeds is an integrated course. There are elements of both traditional lecture-based learning and PBL as well as blended learning. I hope that helps!

Hi I was wondering if your teaching methods for Medicine is integrated based learning or PBL?
Teresa Storey
3:12
Hello. No, not necessarily. Applications are processed at different rates and there are many reasons why some people's get processed earlier that others. Applications are still being shortlisted. If you are concerned, you can try emailing ugmadmissions@leeds.ac.uk but please be advised that they are extremely busy and may take a while to respond.

Chloe

Hi, it can be both types of questions so it is important to prepare answers in advance to both. Please see here for more tips on an interview https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/after-you-apply/undergraduate-inter...

Hi, will the interviews be online?
Chloe
3:04
Hi! No you should not be worried that you haven't received anything yet after sending your application. With lockdown, things may be moving as a slower pace than usual.
The UCAS deadline for applications has been extended to the 29th January now too.

I hope this helps!

Teresa Storey

Hello, if you are still waiting for responses and haven't heard from all of your choices, it is still worth preparing for an interview. Response rates vary depending on insitution and the different programmes. Besides it is always good practice and will stand you in good stead for the future.
