What about teching and research assistanships
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
1:49
Neha, there are limited TA/RA positions available to students; you must have completed at least one semester in good academic standing to be able to apply. They are considered hourly-paid positions and do not have tuition benefits.

Can I pay the application fee via debit card or only credit card is needed
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Neha, I believe you can pay via either credit or debit card.

Are there any other types of financial aids I can I apply to for financial support?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
1:53
As I mentioned, we don't offer financial aid to masters students.

are these all applicable for international students
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

The pages list various different funding sources, all external. You'll need to investigate them to find out what may be applicable or not.

Hi Will, I just wanted to know if the Nanotechnology department asks for an interview before giving out the decision. Also do you have any information regarding the acceptance rate for Nanotechnology department, its applicant pool and the number of people the department usually admits? Sorry for the trouble. Thank you.
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:02
Hi Anudeep The Nanotechnology program does not offer formal interviews before making decisions. I can tell you that the admissions rate last year was 71% and the year before that was 70%. The class size was 5 last year and 10 the year before. It is usually a very intimate, specialized program.

I have AWA score of 3.0 in GRE. Am I eligible to apply. Also do admit chances also depend on AWA scores
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:09
Neha, we don't have a minimum requirement for AWA, so yes, you are eligible to apply. This is one part of your overall application, but we use a holistic review method, so it is only one of many parts of your application that will be reviewed.

If I submit full application by deadline but unable to submit the application fee.Till when can I submit the fee. As I have my debit card right now but not credit card, and in many application portals I faced this problem of declining of debit card.
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:19
Neha, unfortunately, there are protocols in place that may prevent debit cards from certain countries from always working. This is unfortunately a decision made by the 3rd party that operates the application website and their payment processor. However, an application cannot be fully submitted without it being paid for.

Hi will, was just wondering, is Dr. Vijay Kumar not advising for fall 2020 students, because the option to choose him as a advisor is not available in the drop down
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:19
Hi Srijan, he is, but only for certain programs.
Srijan
2:20
So not for Robotics
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:21
Not at this time, no. But he does still supervise his lab, so if you were to get a chance to work with his lab, you would be working him him in some capacity.

Can my Resume exceed 2 pages? What is the maximum limit?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Hi Shahruk, we do not have a limit. However, unless you are submitting a CV with many publications/research projects listed, we strongly recommend no more than 2 pages.

Neha, it was approximately 45% last year and 54% the year before.

Hi Will,
I have a clarification about the TOEFL waiver.
I am applying to the MS in EE program at UPenn. I read in the admission guidelines that TOEFL scores can be waived if the transcript mentions the medium of instruction as English. Could you confirm this?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:34
Hi Vikas, it is actually waived if you graduated or will graduate from a school where English is the language of instruction. What school did you graduate from, or will you graduate from?
John
2:36
What is the acceptance rate for MSE in Computer Science?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:37
Hi John. Last year it was 13.3% and the year before it was 10.4%
Vikas Krishnan
2:36
Thanks for the response Will!
I am from India. I graduated from Anna University, Chennai
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
2:38
Vikas, Anna University is on our list of schools that the language of instruction is English, so you do not need to submit TOEFL scores, as you will qualify for a waiver once our enrollment specialists review your application.

Vikas Krishnan

Wow! That's great to know! Thanks a lot for the confirmation.
As a matter of fact, I was so confident about this information that I reported only my GRE scores. Still, it was better to clarify it with you online. Thank you so much
